you would have saved more cash for doing nothing at all! you throw away cash then for doing exactly the same thing but with a different link, you just have far too much cash if you can throw away even 19p. :mrgreen: just go where its cheapest, its not as if you have to do anything different to your usual way of buying, just click the 1st link, instead of the lower ones.

Well thats just damn typical. For 2 years I waited for Bang Rajan to come out. Then it did & I decided it was too expensive so I waited a few months for it to either come down in price or for CD-Wow to get it in stock (I e-mailed them a few times about it).

In the end I couldn't be bothered to wait any more so I bought it in a Play "sale" for £12.99.

That was last month. If I'd waited for 1 more month I could've bought it for £5.99! Damnit! You lot are bickering about saving 20p! I could've saved £7!

Tartan's Infernal Affairs 1&2 releases are £7.99 (before discount) on cd-wow. £1 cheaper than the Megastar releases :p. (Shame about the AWFUL Tartan covers though.)

IA2 ordered.

Part of me says I should wait for the box set it would be daft for Tartan not to release one but then again Tartan aren't big on re-releases, especially box set re-releases. Ring Trilogy comes to mind but that's about it.

It's a pity it took so long for IA2 to come down in price, it doesn't bode well for IA3

It's such a pity Tartan changed the IA3 cover art. Why can't they give us dual sided cover art?

In this case I'd prefer IA2 HK DVD. The differences:

1. HK Nicer cover art
2. UK a few meaningless deleted scenes

Both have the Making Of. English subbed and as Tartan didn't bother to subtitled the commentary it really only leaves the few deleted scenes in its favour.

As the UK cover art is so bad I went with the HK DVD but will get the UK DVD again for IA3. It has more extras than the HK DVD, which 'only' has 1 Making Of.

The extras get worse as the series go along. The first film is fairly well stacked with a commentary + more, IA2 has a commentary + some okay extras and IA3 JUST has one making of.

Sure I wouldn't cancel now and reorder but considering it takes EXACTLY the same amount of time to visit the UK as it does the US or HK sites why spend more money Grim?

Romero is right.

Sure it's only 19p but why spend more when it's no extra hassle. If it involved hassle or using a company you've not used before (for example) then that would be very different but we're just talking about clicking on a different link.

The bigger point is it's usually £1-2 maybe £3 cheaper. If you don't click the link you don't know.

Which I'm debating whether I should bother now. The Ring trilogy is great as is Kairo. I have "Tale of Two Sisters" to watch it kinda seems like enough.

The Tartan releases of Infernal Affairs 1&2 are even cheaper if you use the $2-8USD coupon. They wind up being $9.99USD. Damn, I ordered IA2 from the UK site - ah well it's only a $3NZD saving I missed out on.

Martin Scorsese's superb film Bringing Out the Dead (1999) is only $6.99USD w/ the $2-8 cd-wow.us voucher.

The French release of the Raging Bull Ultimate Ed (due Sept 14th I think) is £8.29 (when using the $2-8USD voucher), making it significantly cheaper than the UK release of the same edition. Tom reckons it's highly likely this release won't have forced French subs, I'm willing to take that gamble since RB is one of my favourite films (along with Taxi Driver. My all time fave is Goodfellas).

Since The Terminator Ultimate Ed due out in Sept probably won't have the original mono, here's a good alternative. For £5.52 (when using the $2-8USD voucher) you can pick up the R3 Korean 2-disc SE which has the original mono. It's reportedly identical to the old R1 double-sided release (which has since gone OOP and been replaced by a movie only barebones release) except with on 2 discs. I'd snap this up quick, cuz from judging from koreandvds.com it's gone OOP.

Such an underrated classic.

Scorsese isn't capable of making a bad film. Even the (maybe heavily) flawed GONY is enjoyable.

I agree GONY was heavily flawed. I've yet to see The Aviator. The Departed (his IA remake) should be good.

He can make turkeys though. His Cape Fear remake was nothing but a B-movie with a A-grade filmmakers, budget and cast (except the awful Juliette Lewis, who again is playing white trash in this film).

The Age of Innocence was very pretty to look at. The production design, costume design were fantastic and the film was beautifully shot. But it was over-long, the characters were uninteresting, the story was unengaging and the acting from the female leads, Winona Ryder and Michelle Pfeiffer was fucking dire. Daniel Day Lewis can do no wrong though and is always fantastic. AoI is pretty much the thematic predecessor to GoNY, it focuses on the upper-class of the same era New York as GoNY.

I saw The Age of Innocence on TV about 10 years ago. But I don't remember it much.

I thought Nick Nolte was superb in Cape Fear; DeNiro had the flashy role, and excellent though he is, it was Nolte who impressed me most. I'm not a fan of Juliette Lewis, but she suited her part of sexually precocious teenager.
