Apart from the 5.1 audio.

Oh? I watched it a couple months back and thought the audio was fine..

"Most" HKL 5.1 remixes are basically stereo, which won't appease purists but at least they're not those awful full on 5.1 remixes.

It's a little soft and colors are a bit muted but it's a definite upgrade even if it's marginal.

While we're on the subject of bad remixes, I can guarantee that any HKL remix will best the shit that is FS Bruce Lee's. Those are god-awful.

Huh? Are you saying it's worth upgrading the Iron Monkey BD from either HKL DVD or not? Thanks

i think he's saying that while the BD is better, the improvement is so minimal it's not worth the £15 it'd cost to upgrade...that's my take anyway :)

Yep that pretty much sums it up.

I'd imagine that Fortune Star's 7.1 remix is worse than HKL's comparatively inoffensive 5.1 remix.

@Mark: Definitely agreed.

@ Ricky/Salty: Thanks. I figured that but it's nice to have it confirmed.

I saw the first 15 minutes when it was on TV. Turned it off after that. It seemed terrible.

Yes, it's an English language film.

A Cantonese dub was prepared with local stars revoicing the original actors.

Police Story 3 is my favourite Jackie Chan film too :(. Yes really. It's odd Supercop is dubbed only because the DD DVD isn't, although it is the cut version.

If u really love PS3 that much, then I recommend u get the HK blu. Its another one of those releases that people trashed to no end but was completely fine.

I don't really love it but it's good. I've got it thanks. It's a good quality disc. Technically I've got a DVD9 (so identical quality) rip, as they never bloody released them separately. Just in a box set. I don't want the first two!

Upscale issue aside... there's no original mono only a 7.1(!) track.

Stereo, mono... it doesn't matter anymore. At this point no one cares about the output format. The problem is that Fortune Star remixes sound like fucking shit. Would they release a good sounding audio track made of the original elements I couldn't care less if it's 1.0, 2.0, 7.1, 215.7...

PS3 was originally mono.

Jackie's first 2.0/5.1 film was Rumble in the Bronx.

Clearly I'm talking about the HK DVD here. I misread DangerousLeeHandsome post, somehow. That does have Mono or maybe stereo:

Just noticed that Cine-Asia's BD of Fist of Legend opens with the Miramax logo and not DD. Weird...
