What the bloody hell is going on you're right. I'll put it back on the main page later on and leave it there.

Hey,

Brad did you get an e-mail from Play? I got this:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for applying for the Daily Star / Play.com £5 voucher promotion.

Although your claim was not one of the 8000 qualifying entries, as a valued
reader, the Daily Star and Play.com are pleased to offer you a special £1
voucher to spend on the Play.com website.

Simply visit www.play.com, choose any products that you like and then proceed to
the checkout.

Just enter the attached code into the area marked 'Voucher Code' on the right
hand side of the page, just before you confirm your order, this will immediately
take £1 off the cost of your purchase.

Please note this voucher is valid for one use only and expires on April 30 2005.

We hope you continue to enjoy reading the Daily Star and shopping at Play.

..............

Er OK but I dont read the Star :D

Also its' annoying I've only got 8 days to spend it  They took long enough to send the bloody thing out.

You registered though.

I did but so did my Dad who sure as hell didn't register. I reckon they sent it out to everyone who is a member. I know 8 says  . I only used them 10 mins earlier to (from work). I've asked if I can have a £1 refund on my order.

No worries

Get the £1 voucher code (the pepsi one, number 3 I think) + use it with the £1 link.

£2 off for DVDs. LMK if you get stuck. You paste the code when checking out.

That's a common problem with CD WOW.

jimmyscab wrote:They all seem to be discount links and not voucher codes.

It's this one:

"02. CD Wow - £1 off, with thanks to Bullets n Babes member Demented_uk, (new and existing customers). Required CODE: 5437 GXWZ 16P8 513Q: "

Number 2 in fact, they send you a code in the e-mail.

Not at the moment. I'd keep trying though.

I have 2 £1 vouchers that I'll probably post here as I can't see myself using them. £1 off at Play is still more expensive than elsewhere.

Brad have you noticed none of the £1 vouchers (the "link" type) work? I have deleted my cookies etc but they're not giving me any money of DVDs.. :?

The £1 link (number 4) works fine for me. Do you have access to another browser than IE? If so try that.

Have you tried restarting your PC?

No, but I'll try it now.
I managed to get £2 of anyway because I went to the Bargain Basement site and used a link there.
Only got access to IE. IE is cack.

IE sure is. Download Mozilla Firefox:

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

It's much, much better. The only reason most people use IE is because it comes pre-installed. Even in it's latest SP2 version it's wildy out of date + has HUGE security holes by allowing ActiveX content. Mozilla doesn't support ActiveX which means a few sites don't work (use IE for them) but it's worth it as ActiveX is so buggy it should never have been invented.

UPDATE:

* The two DVD Soon vouchers are expired.

It's all a bit quiet on the voucher front I'll have to do some more searching.

The 20% voucher is working again!

It can be found in the usual place! OR rather it's kind of working, it certainly knocks something off when you click the link but searching for titles are shown at the usual price.

Bad timing for me as I've bought enough DVDs this month. I have a CD on pre-order but by the time I've cancelled the order it's bound to stop working and besides it will only save me 75p

It isn't really working, I don't think.

I click the link and everything on the front page has 20% off the shown price, but as soon as you click on any other link the price change has gone. Even if you clikc the add to basket icon on any cd that says £7 on it or something, it appears in the basket at full price...

Done a bit more investigation into this and the 20% IS available through www.cd-wow.com/smartsave . HOWEVER, you have to have a SmartSave card (whatever that is) to be able to use it as they ask the card number.

It also states that any use of this fraudulantly and they will revoke the discount. :(
