Not sure I'll bother actually, same goes for most of the new BD's because there's no decent existing release. But if you're interested I can get some screens and details.EvaUnit02 wrote:The R1 OVA (not the R1 Movie Edition) and the old R2J releases.Lourdes wrote:Is there anyting worth comparing the Macross+ remaster to?

I have the UK Phantasm set, I can do no.3 as well if you like. Could you please take the caps one frame directly before or after a scene/shot transistions (a lot easier to match this way) and upscale them to 1024x576 (PAL has added resolution so it makes sense to upscale NTSC sourced stuff, rather than downscale PAL stuff)? You easily do using Lourdes' alternative method listed here.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Anybody up for a "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" and/or "Kiki's Delivery Service" comparison ?
I've got the non-windowboxed R2FR versions.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

I'll probably get some captures up in the next few days or so. Keep an eye out.EvaUnit02 wrote:I have the UK Phantasm set, I can do no.3 as well if you like. How to include the Average DVD Bitrate of each DVD, added to Tom's "How to make a DVD comparison" thread:
https://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/ ... php?t=2428
It would be handy if we could start adding this to our comparisons. It takes seconds to find out.

Bitrate is really very meaningless and that application tends to show the combined bitrate of all streams and even then it's rarely accurate. I usually check bitrates with calc.exe but it's only a way of possibly explaining the visual differences we already see....
It's even more pointless than comparing audio tracks with a spectral analysis.
