What Moneypenny is naughty? . There's no way I'M removing shot 6 it's freakin' awesome.
I'll have to recheck my SE now as I sure as hell don't remember it being this dark. I prefer the look of shot 5 (Bond's jacket looks more black) but otherwise the UE clearly wins.
But really both are very good. Is that burnt in captions I see for the UE?
@ MLAM: Can you play DTS? If so how much better (if at all) is the new DTS over the old DD5.1? Is it only marginally better as the DVD Times reviews are saying?

Doh! I meant shot 6, but when I typed it I only had 5 pictures up with that being the last one.bradavon wrote:What Moneypenny is naughty? . There's no way I'M removing shot 6 it's freakin' awesome.
Hmmm, I'll have a double check on whether its that dark or not.I'll have to recheck my SE now as I sure as hell don't remember it being this dark. I prefer the look of shot 5 (Bond's jacket looks more black) but otherwise the UE clearly wins.

Yep, they are burnt on captions, though thats for locations, not sure if foreign dialogue is the same or not.
I can only play DTS and 5.1 on my PC as I dont have a 5.1 setup in the lounge .@ MLAM: Can you play DTS? If so how much better (if at all) is the new DTS over the old DD5.1? Is it only marginally better as the DVD Times reviews are saying?
But from what I have listened to there is no obvious difference between the DTS and 5.1, but I will give the audio a good compare when I watch them in full.

Well I kinda answered it but just not that directly, bradavon wrote:Thanks. I was asking if the new DTS was better/the same/worse than the old DD5.1 (i.e - old DVD).
As those are the two tracks most will be using.
When I skimmed through the PTS I did use the DTS track and to my ears it seems a bit more clearer than the OLD SE 5.1 but I don't really want to comment anymore than that now as I haven't given them a clear listen yet.
Added a new cap incase you've not spotted it Brad

You go do that my friend Wake up the neighbours while your at it tooYummy.
Brad wanders off to check his TWINE: UK R2 SE.
Still think the old Grain Reduction filter has been through it as some details are now gone I think, look at Pierce's arm in the shot where he is groping that girl, his arm hairs are barely visable now.

It's only you.thelostdragon wrote:Is it only me, or did this film really suck so much that I had to stop watching it?
The UE is pretty good, but not sure it's worth buying in place of the SE? If I didn't have the SE, then fine, but there's not a lot in it. The UE look warmer, redder, but not distractingly so. Good spot re. the arm hairs. I missed that upon first glance.

But yeah agreed.
You're getting confused between TWINE and DADthelostdragon wrote:Is it only me, or did this film really suck so much that I had to stop watching it?

Just rewatched my SE.
Good film, especially the drama and acting.
Lots of cool action.
Hate those bloody puerile puns and innuendos though.
Please make them stop!
The raid on the caviar factory seemed very dark.
How is this on the UE?
Ooh, and what are the subs like?
The SE has optional ones positioned below the frame.
