You may ask - "Why mark so low?" Probably my own fault, I just wanted to see this in a rush to bring some context to the beginning of S5, but unfortunately this season lost some context in the process.
1. What happened to the Araz (sp?) family from the beginning of the season?
2. I thought Palmer stepped down as President? Why is he still called President Palmer? When did the storyline with the Chinese consul and nuclear warheads come in? What happened to the missle that was bound for LA?
3. Where did Mia Kershner (sp?) (Mandy) come from and where did she go? How/why did she become Marwan's accomplice? (I must admit I was quite shocked when that happened). She may heve been evil but she was quite hot!
4. I found the ending proposterous - the chief suspect (Marwan) getting killed and the other being granted diplomatic immunity (!) I thought "Jack Bauers standards are slipping" (!)
5. I understand why Jack faked his own death though (to escape from the Chinese).
Aye solid love story from Bollywood. It is nice to see the industry produce some fresh material for a change... instead of ripping off a western title. Great storyline, characters and performances. What I really loved were the set pieces, not to mention the stunning cinematography (something Bollywood is very good at).
Also it's good to see the Indian/Pakistan relationship in a good light. Hope this trend continues.

Fuck YES. After the British gave India independence in '47, the country was divided into two states (India and Pakistan) based on religion mostly - a Hindu-dominated one (India) and the other Muslim-dominated (Pakistan). This arrangement proved highly-volatile and resulting in many conflicts - including 3 major wars. Don't you remember all the nuclear arming hooha a few years ago? How there's big arguments to who the Kashir area belongs to?
Yeah at present, there is a lot of tension between these two countries. I feel lucky growing up in the UK, I haven't been exposed to the conflict and have been fortunate enough to make many Muslim pals.
A lot of the older generation are perhaps more responsible for the tension. Hopefully today's youngsters won't be brainwashed too much into disliking the other side.

Glad to see you liked Veer Zaara, might I suggest you rent or purchase Main Hoon Na, Shah Rukh khan in an Action movie, but again Pakistan and India scenerio. It is a good movie and really nice to see. Highly recommended to ya.

Veer Zaara is excellent, some people have put it down and said it not as good as Kal Ho naa ho, but they are completely different movies. I like the way movies are now bridging Pakistan and Indian, let hope that continues. You should also check out Main Hoon Na, which has a similar policatal motive to the movie, and the songs are great.

Madman have released Kaante, but its cropped to 1.78, when it should be 2.35
Right this is the first time that I've seen this film. I have to say that it is probably the most frightening movie I've ever seen. An intensely atmospheric horror and it goes to that it is just as scary today as it was back then. The quality of modern horror is a joke, relying on blood, gore and cheap jumps. I found Shining to be a bit more cerebral.
Also I also where the spoofs come from. That slipknot video makes a lot more sense now.
You talking bout Kubrick's masterpiece or the shitty TV mini-series remake from the late 90's? The Kubrick film I saw for the first time on telly (in open-matte 4:3 - a perfectly fine presentation) a few months ago and it was bloody awesome.
I watched the entire season so quick I didnt know what episode I was on uintil it finished at 5 in the morning or something I dont know how anyone could watch it so slow, I couldnt stop. Lost and 24 are just addictive! like crack, but without the pain!
In Episode 9 Sayid meets the same French woman who made the distress (the one that was repeating for 16 years). We learn about Sayid's time in Iraq. The French woman resorts to torture as she thinks Sayid is part of another tribe living there.
I'm on Episode 10 now (where Claire has nightmares so she thinks her baby is in danger).

Interestingly, at the end of the episode the "notations" written by the French woman are (I think, if I have the tune right) the lyrics to the French version of "Beyond The Sea", the "cartoon about fish" Shannon is referring to being "Finding Nemo" (2003).
Very surprising, gripping start to the new season, immediately upping the ante. Great stuff
