Kiss of the Dragon - Best Bluray edition
The 2006 BD edition pretty much sucked due to MPEG-2 video encoding. However, two recent editions caught my attention: The German BD (claims to be the uncut version) and the newly released US re-issue by Anchor Bay/Starz, both encoded in MPEG-4 AVC. Anyone have these editions and could confirm superior picture quality to the 2006 release?

I heard about that Anchor Bay release but not seen a comparison. Amazing there isn't a French blu. The uncut French DVD, and UK blu have been the only viable option for a long time

Also on caps-a-holic the German edition looks pretty much the same. Different compression, same soft master

Those Anchor Bay reissues of Fox titles are allegedly so barebones they don't even have a menu. The encoding may be improved hopefully.

OK, catch me up very quickly, so all of the previous BDs of KOD have been crap? Why? Even the French one?!

All BD releases from 2006 were pretty much the same old crap, with the 2011 German BD release being a slight improvement. However the US re-issue by Anchor Bay remains a mystery (I might consider ordering it at some point though) and there's no French BD yet.

Well, if anything you can just get the German BD since it's the only release that contains the uncut version.

Re: Kiss of the Dragon - Best Bluray edition
So was there every any word on if the Best Buy version looked any better? What's the best bet for this title? Is it a source materials issue, or just bad encoding?
