Infernal Affair 3 UK Version, is it the director cut

Post by slasher13 »

As the subject says, The UK Version of Infernal Affair 3, is it the director cuts? Does anyone have it?

I was thinking about getting the UK boxset:

I'm pretty sure it's only the Director's cut but don't quote me on that one.

How long is the UK cut?

Slasher, if it's 118 minutes then it's the director's cut for sure.

However, it will be an NTSC to PAL conversion (if that bothers you).

Hope that helps dude.

Hey BiscLimpkit, cheers for the information. One thing is that the NTSC to PAL conversion hasn't bothered me because i haven't realised it on other Tartan dvds. For instance Audition, when i watched the collector edition and also Ring i didn't noticed any problem with it.

Can you add in a bit more information like what the downfall are for NTSC to PAL? I've heard people saying ghosting, but again never seen this?

Slasher,

Like you, NTSC to PAL conversions do not bother me. I am perfectly happy with some of Tartan's efforts - namely the awesome JSA disc.

I can recognise an NTSC to PAL conversion, due to the extensive ghosting and combing but my eyes adjust to the image fairly easily. I once asked someone for a technical description of NTSC to PAL transfers and his explanation went straight over my head.

Bottom line, go for that boxset Slasher. I think if one can enjoy the film without worrying about the video then all the better for them. :D
