What are the Musicmagpie.co.uk competitors?

Post by bradavon »

I see Musicmagpie.co.uk now have a 10 title minimum order. I only need them for the odd title I cannot shift on eBay etc...

Are there any similar sites without this stupid restriction? I recall Saltysam mentioning another but cannot remember what they were called. Thanks.

I'm sure Sam mentioned Turnintocash (I gave them a go) but AFAIK all these kind of sites now have a 10 titlle minimum rule.
Shame as I used to use Musicmagpie when it had 5 title minimum order.

Thanks. Me too but their prices are so woeful, they are literally a last resort before I give them away.

Yep it's 10 titles for both Turnintocash and Musicmagpie :(. Turnintocash do seem to offer better prices though. Used4cash.co.uk may have a different limit but it didn't recognise my two R1s and one R3 title.

Because shops aren't licensed to sell them in this country.

It depends where the store is located. Musicmagpie recognised all the R1s and the R3. Turnintocash recognised the R1.
Thanks Salty. Do you know what their limit is?

There's no limit mentioned in the T&Cs of any of these sites

I just got an email from Musicmagpie saying some of my items I sent were missing :? I emailed them all the reciept numbers as I sent them in multiple parcels. So I'll wait and see :( I'm a bit annoyed as I got good prices for some old games.
Magpie say their sending process is "easier" now but you cant send things at the Post Office, you have to go to a "Collect Plus" point now :?. The minimum is still 10 items (ie if its a mixture of DVDs/games etc) but you only have to send a miminum of 3 games now.

Last time I used Magpie I had a courier pick the boxes up.
There's a minimum item number for this though... 25, I think?
Still took ages for Magpie to receive the packages and process the payment... but at least they take imports and I've never had a cheque bounce. ;)

I've given Magpie all the tracking info and barcodes for each parcel I sent (presumably so they can investigate if one has been lost), not sure where this one is going.. I'll see what happens I guess :D

Your local Spar is probably a collect point though, mine is.

I've used these recently, values are similar to musicmagpie but importantly you send via royal mail and you get your cash a hell of a lot quicker than from magpie, typically less than a week from sending your package off. minimum is not items but £15 threshold, though if you don't reach this they'll offer you less ie your stuff is valued at £12 they may offer you £10 if you can't/won't make it up to £15.

Anyone heard of Ziffit.com? Recently they started advertising on TV, similar to Magpie, Webuybooks etc but rather than an 'minimum items' thing they have a 'minimum amount' per trade of £10. Their prices dont seem to be the best though.

Fair enough. :) I'll stick with them too.
What titles were they? I think as with all traders, prices seem to fluctuate, sometimes even from day to day.
