NOTW shut down because of phone hacking

The News of the World "paper" is closing down because of the phone hacking scandal in which journalists are said to have tapped the phone of relatives of soldiers who died in Iraq, and also Milly Dowler, who was killed in 2002.
IMO these people should go to prison for a very long time

They won't be the only paper to have been at it,The Daily Mail has been caught doing it as well but maybe not to this extent.Anyway it's complete bollocks and a publicity stunt by Murdoch who has the uk government in his pocket.it's an absolute certainty that before the summer's out The Sunday S#n will be launched.

Agree with Sam. A cynical move on Murdoch's part to destroy a newspaper that's been around for a century just to divert attention from his under review BSKYB purchase. If News Corp. were at all serious they would've cut loose Rebekah Brooks already. Instead to save her thousands of jobs (most of them decent people) will be slashed.

I saw this in the local paper. One less shitty tabloid rag in the world is a good thing, IMO.
