Not mine. It's not a proper box set. It's four discs stuck in a regular-sized case. No effort at all. £24.99 should've been the RRP, never mind sale price. A £40 start point is pretty ridiculous.Shingster wrote:By any definition of the term, £25 for the LW BD boxset is a bargain.

Re: The Amazon Bargains Thread!
Alright, alright! I'm not even going to start to get into a debate on pricing with a scotsman!
EDIT: I forgot to say one thing: It's five discs, from DVDActive:
"In addition to the extras found on the individual discs Warner has assembled a decent collection of new high-definition features for the fifth disc in the set. There's a retrospective documentary in the shape of Psycho Pension: The Genesis of Lethal Weapon, which features 2010 interview footage with Donner, Gibson and Glover. A Family Affair: Bringing Lethal Weapon to Life deals more with the extended creative team responsible for the movies (including Shane Black, stunt co-ordinator Mic Rodgers and cinematographer Stephen Goldblatt), while Pulling the Trigger: Expanding the World of Lethal Weapon focusses on the three sequels and again features new interviews with the cast and crew. Bringing up the rear is Maximum Impact: The Legacy of Lethal Weapon, which looks at the lasting impact the films have had on the action genre. The new docs are very entertaining and the when combined with the legacy material make for a pretty decent set of extras."

Five discs. I stand corrected.
But it's still not worth £40.
I'll get it when it dips under £20.

The LW set looks like a proper boxset to me - not 5 keepcases as I've seen pics of it and it looks too thin.

I've seen Amazon Customer images and it appears to be 5 discs in a keepcase - not just 5 seperate cases in a box. Looks to be a good space saver.

is it that much of a bargain when you factor in shipping & customs fees?grim_tales wrote:Shrek Blu Ray Box:

The UK release is currently £6.95 delivered at Zavvi or for the next two days can be bought for £5.84 at hmv using the 20% code. or am i missing something,is the usa release somehow better?grim_tales wrote:Last Action Hero $5.99: http://www.amazon.com/Last-Action-Hero- ... My bad I thought the UK release was cut or something. I must be thinking of the old UK DVD of Eraser that was cut.

It's still a good price if you (for whatever reason) prefer the US release.

Nearly an extra £2 for a virtually identical disc? if the usa release was better for some reason, extras or audio wise i'd agree but i'm pretty certain Last Action Hero is the same bare bones disc on both sides of the pond. i'm surprised at you Mark,i thought you were a penny-pincher anyway thank you to Grim for posting,it reminded me i haven't seen this for years so have just ordered it from hmv for £5.84

Re: The Amazon Bargains Thread!
I just understand why Grim thought it was a good buy. $5.99 is, generally speaking, a very good price for a US import. Perhaps in this case you're as well off with the UK disc... that's not really the point I was trying to make. If you were already buying something else from Amazon and wanted something cheap to split the postage... the disc would only be £3.69 + conversion charges.saltysam wrote:Nearly an extra £2 for a virtually identical disc? if the usa release was better for some reason, extras or audio wise i'd agree but i'm pretty certain Last Action Hero is the same bare bones disc on both sides of the pond. i'm surprised at you Mark,i thought you were a penny-pincher anyway thank you to Grim for posting,it reminded me i haven't seen this for years so have just ordered it from hmv for £5.84
