Playusa winding down

Post by saltysam »

For the last couple of weeks the coming soon section at Playusa has disappeared, according to posters elsewhere when enquiring they've been told the usa/canada branch is winding down over the next couple of months, all existing orders will be fulfilled but no new titles will be available.pity really, while they weren't perfect they were often cheaper than elsewhere and in the case of Criterion BD's many pounds cheaper.

That is a shame. I bet the Dollar to Sterling exchange rate has hit them hard. Hopefully they can maybe open up again when things pick up. Play.com is an established brand but Playusa.com has always been something of a niche.

Shit I had no idea, just had a quick look and I'd have been better off using them! PlayUSA has never been on my mind when searching for Criterion BDs.

The mistake was not intigrating their Canadian product into the main UK site.

That's too expensive for a single BD for me.

Criterion are good, but not that good.

Well I'm a prime example, if it had been integrated I'd have used it.

Oh. "Not" integrating it. My mistake. I was thinking "have I missed something? It's not integrated". You had to know it existed, the only way you can tell is that "International" link at the top right.

Agreed. It should find both UK and North American content from the same site.
