If you want the Theatrical Cut and Extended Special Edition, the new BD is the best BD out there. That much is fact.

The new SE (which has all 3 cuts right?) sounds fine IMObradavon wrote:Then unless you want to own both BDs (which I still say the older one is "overall" worse), you're stuck with the new SE. The only other way to get the Theatrical Cut is the old USA BD and that's rubbish.
Both old and new UK BDs have a perfectly fine picture, they're just not HD WOWness! They're better than the Ultimate Edition DVD.
I quite like the feature of "While you were posting a new reply was posted"

I Have the old version DC and that'll do me.no interest in extras or multiple cuts.i haven't seen the new release but the consensus across forums i've read reckon it's an inferior transfer. Mark has the old TC usa i think and i'm sure he reckons it's ok.

Re: The General DVD/HD Disc Bargains Thread!
So it's rubbish then?
I'm pretty sure it's only a BD25 with an old MPEG2 transfer. It also only has DD5.1 or DTS and the DTS is faulty on some discs (according to the DVD Talk review). I say some discs as it works for some people. I'd be annoyed if I had to watch T2 in only DD5.1. 1.5Mbps audio sounds so much better.

I never said that. It's clearly not rubbish. That much I would've noticed. It's better than the DVD. I never watched the whole thing thru which why I wouldn't hold my opinion up as valuable.bradavon wrote:So it's rubbish then?

I don't remember. I'll watch it in full sometime and post my thoughts then. That's unless I get the Skynet Ed in the interim.

I went into my local Gamestation a couple of weeks ago on a whim and they'd cleared out ALL of their Blu Rays. If there was a clearout sale I missed it!saltysam wrote:Gamestation in-store are having a blu-ray sale, prices are £3.98/£4.98 and stock varies from store to store.some i spotted:

The Wrestler £7.48 at Amazon.co.uk:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wrestler-Blu-ra ... B001TJKVB4
The Wrestler £7.49 at HMV:
http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDet ... sku=940048
Spec. looks the same as the USA disc but it also has an extra interview. According to the DVD Therapy review it's Region B but it's in the general Spec. anywhere, so they may not have checked it.

Re: The General DVD/HD Disc Bargains Thread!
Where have you seen it for less? Thanks.
Why mention it, if you don't want to say where you saw it? I checked 8 of the biggest stores online and these 2 were the cheapest. Most were nearer a tenner.
EDIT: It's £6.99 on eBay, only 1 listing though. It's also an Ex-Rental, so doesn't count.

WTF! I gave the HMV link. It's a given, it will be cheaper if you use Quidco on top too. Besides it's still £7.49 at HMV. You get the money back later.

Then do not bother posting a bargain ever again if it is not the cheapest it can be got for.

Re: The General DVD/HD Disc Bargains Thread!
No one here would bother posting bargains then as not everybody here uses flippin' cashback according to you
Oh a saving of 38p whoopee doo.
