The blu-ray is a mess and easily the worst looking HD disc i've seen.worse, there are no english subtitles and even when you select the english track there is still loads of cantonese being spoken.waste of time,i've given the dvd to my brother but is this BD is an upconvert from that the dvd must be shit as well (picture wise)

The Blu-Ray disc is an upconvert of the DVD. You're better off with the DVD.

Well, if the BD is an upscaled DVD, then presumabely, if the BD looks shit, the DVD looks shit too. Presuming Salty doesn't think it's shit because it looks SD.

So the German DVD/BD has no English subs after all?

I think salty thinks it's shit because of the upscaling (which it will). I don't think there's anything wrong with the German image.

From memory, Part V is the weakest of the series.
