My data cap resets in a few days I thought that I may as well download Team Fortress 2 (which I bought as part of the Orange Box).
I played it for about an hour as a Medic and it was pretty fun.
The worst enemy of the medic is the spy. Those mother fuckers would stab me whilst they were cloaked or disguised as a member of my team. Stabbing = instant kill.

Been playing Prince of Persia 3 a bit tonight. Had it for over a year now, but didnt really like it that much at first. Gave it a 2nd chance tonight and I like it a bit better now. I like the speedkills and the puzzles.
I'm not that far in yet though. Just gained the sand-of-time dagger again, and my arm is blackened I believe, which will give me some awesome powers later on...

Since my save-games are gone, I decided to start over with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic again. Not the prettiest game in the world, and I'm contemplating murder on Garth, as he's either being an fucking emo, or he's blocking me, so IF I turn to the Dark Side, he'll be the first to go... ("guess you were right about not trusting me! -stab-)
Also playing Def Jam Fight for NY. This game came with the modded Xbox I bought, and I played it a bit and really enjoyed it. Sadly, the disk it was on was causing read-errors all the time, so I downloaded the game and burned it, so now it works properly
Awesome game. I'm not a big fan of the whole hiphop gangstah wannabee style, but gameplay wise this is a kick-ass game which is VERY VERY fun because of the over the top moves and such

It was never available as a download here in Holland, as far as I know. Not sure why either. It just wasnt.EvaUnit02 wrote:I don't recall it ever not being.Yi-Long wrote:Did they finally make it available for PAL-users?EvaUnit02 wrote:With KotOR1 on X360 you can get the downloadable content with a XBL silver account.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 4.5/5
Completed it on "Normal" difficulty. Overall in 21 hours. I got 96 items. I'm still wondering where I can find the last remaining 4 itmes.
The gameplay is awesome. This is how an ego shooter should feel like playing on Nintendo Wii. If anybody still thinks that ego shooters are only suitable to play on PC, they haven't played this game. OK, it consits more of riddles than shootouts, but it is fun with all the items, suit upgrades and bosses you meet on all the planets.
I deducted 0.5 from the overall score because the final boss was very easy to beat. Maybe I should play it on the new difficulty I have set free now.

WTF is an "ego shooter"? FPS with brains? Nah, it's a first person platformer. Retro Studios flawlessly translated the essence of the series (2D side-scrolling platformers) to a new gameplay perspective, that's all.
The morphball puzzles, suit upgrades, exploration, enemies that are impervious to certain beams... they were all there in Metroid 1, 2 and Super Metroid.

Now that I have the new PC, and installed photoshop and that kinda crap, I'm also downloading a few games and trying them out, see how they look and play, etc..
...so the last week or so I've been playing Pro Evo 2008 (PC), which is pretty disappointing, TBH.
And tonight I installed Flight Simulator X, which was working but didnt look too good.
So I installed 2 updates/patches which would supposedly improve performance, and after that the cracked game wouldnt start anymore (go figure(!) ), so now I uninstalled the whole thing. Might try again later, will see if there is a solution to get the game running smoothly...
Also have Call of Duty 4 waiting to be installed, and Oblivion.
Not sure if I wanna play Oblivion on the PC though, cause I was planning on getting the GOTY edition for the PS3, once I have a PS3.
Same goes for Call of Duty, which I will just get on a next-gen console as well.

Just as long as you buy a version of each of those games, go ahead and warez the PC versions. Those are quality games made by developers whom care about their products (in this case, Infinity Ward and Bethesda) and they deserve to get sales. Bethesda in particular are one of the last large American independent development houses that haven't been bought out by a mega corporate entity.Yi-Long wrote:Also have Call of Duty 4 waiting to be installed, and Oblivion.

Don't you even dare think of pirating STALKER, The Witcher, Penumbra or Crysis. Top notch PC exclusive games lovingly developed by their respective independent European developers.

Ow, I'm sure I'll end up buying both of those games. Oblivion probably for PS3, and Call of Duty probably for 360.EvaUnit02 wrote:Just as long as you buy a version of each of those games, go ahead and warez the PC versions. Hmmmm... wasnt even considering it, as those games arent looking very appealing to me, but now... you might have just convinced me otherwiseDon't you even dare think of pirating STALKER, The Witcher, Penumbra or Crysis. Call of Duty 4 on 360 rocks! You should get that version - far better online features. Once the single player campaign is over & you've finished it on Veteran, you probably won't go back to it, so that leaves the excellent multiplayer, which is better on 360. Go for it.

A 360 joypad is great, but the d-pad is pretty bad. You can supposedly FIX the D-pad quite easily, to improve it alot, but it means cutting/shaving some plastic away from around the d-pad. Youtube has some videos on it, plus I'm sure there are also tutorial websites about it.
Installed Oblivion on my pc late last night, and created a character, and planning on actually playing the game tonight or tomorrow.
I already had it installed once on my older PC, but taht didnt run it smoothly and I never exited the dungeon, so hopefully my new PC will handle all the graphics perfectly.
I did get a message at first that the game didnt recognize my graphicscard, yet when I went into setup, it did say it was a 8800GT, and I set everything to hight etc, so we'll see how it will look and play.

Hmmm... been playing Oblivion the last 1-2 hours orso, and came outside for the first time, and it seems the grass isnt working!
It just looks like crap. No idea what's causing it, although it might be one of the graphical settings...
Other than that, quite a nice game. Will definately get it for PS3, once the GOTY version hits 30 bucks or something.

Use the latest the beta drivers from Nvidia.com (Don't worry, Nvidia beta drivers are always stable.), the one included the install CD is likely ancient shit.
1. Download the latest driver.
2. Download and install a driver cleaner program (eg Driver Sweeper).
3. Uninstall the driver from Add/Remove Programs.
4. Boot into safe mode and run the driver cleaner.
5. Reboot into safe mode again and install the new driver.
6. Boot into normal Windows.

Thanks, I'll try that.EvaUnit02 wrote:Use the latest the beta drivers from Nvidia.com (Don't worry, Nvidia beta drivers are always stable.), the one included the install CD is likely ancient shit.
I thought I just updated my graphics card drivers not too long ago, so weird this problem still exists...
Here's a page that's dealing with the problems btw. Apparently it has to do with far distance land textures or whatever. I turned it off and then the grass was bland but ok, but obviously I'd rather play it with all settings maxed.

God the problems of PC
every game I get has some bug that needs getting rid of, shame one game once in a while does not work instantly.
I have been playing Bioshock on my PC a bit latley, it really is a flipping amazing game. So nice to look at and listen to, pretty damn good, shame I could never get the game running perfect with the new patch.
Also Call of Duty 4 on PC as well, what a fantastic game that is!
Team Fortress 2 also is damn good!
them 3 games really have taken up a fair chunk of my time the last month or so, so different, yet so damn good. Its also nice to be able to put them all on the highest settings and resolutions and they play perfect still, makes a change.
Who needs any more games than that
