but no way I will order anything at the moment :shock: so pointless even saying any, as people should not buy at the moment until they tell us what the hells going on.

Dont use them much anymore as they are not safe at all and dont want my cards ripped off. Unless they pull there fingers out and pay for more security I dont bother with them.

Nope they are not at all, you dont get any secirity when you buy from them! so your details are open to abuse! thousands of accounts last year were hacked and people had cash stole from them, all because they are lazy assed gits

They messed up my account it seemed and I had to shut down my details and open a new account, hackers dont you love them

Romero that is utter rubbish (do you believe everything you read)? The site is very much secure you can see this when you buy something.

I did read a good YEAR ago they had security issues but that is old news and besides like I said their site is secure.

As for the hacking you mention from what I read it was all hear see that DVD Pacific were involved at all. People were guessing it was DVD Pacific as they'd all happened to have bought from them (that's not proof). The actual people stealing the money was some random company no has ever heard of.

Grim relax they're safe. Check out the padlock in IE when you buy if you don't believe me.

p.s - How exactly did they mess your account up?

Well I beleve it when DVDPACIFIC sent me an email saying they had problems with hackers and had to change all members passwords. So yes I do beleve it all, and from what I have read the site is still far from as secure as it should be.

Seriously could you post the e-mail? I'm not saying I don't believe you but that doesn't make great business sense to e-mail their customers to say they're getting hacked (even though "most" companies do from time to time, yes DVD Soon and CD WOW included).

How long ago was the e-mail sent? As I've just checked and they're secure now with 128-Bit encryption.

One very valid point to make it's irrelevant how secure a website is if the credit card details are stored on an insecure server. All the secure part of their blurb means is the link between your PC and their server is secure. I've heard of many "so called" secure websites who store data insecurely.

Besides how do you know many others aren't insecure? Most companies wouldn't e-mail you as DVD Pacific did so you actually have no idea.

as I have 2000 emails

it was basically explaining about the fact my password and stuff had been changed by DVDPACIFIC and why, and they gave me new ones as the old ones were not safe anymore

quite worrying really.

I still use them as I am one of them people who think it will never happen to me, but thinking like that is probibly silly

I dont know how secure they are now, but I assume they have to have beefed up there site after the probs, well I hope they have.

According to this DVD Soon seem to have extended the i-points reward scheme (looks like another form of credit

) to all customers - even those who havent paid money for the i-card.
Not sure I want to order from them again after hearing all the horror stories.

They are still scumlords, so dont order! as they cannot get any stiock of anything at all and you cannot get a refund.

Theres a BIG difference between that, and the situation at the moment, a MASSIVE difference.

Its insulting at the moment and DVDSOON need to be taken to court and cleaned of cash and people locked up! its beyond a joke att he moment! they canned another 2 of my orders today! SCUM!

and still no way to get my cash back! worthless credit to buy dvds that WILL NOT come wont do!

Nope have you seen the current situation? they have stopped all refunds!!!!!! for a few months!

its beyond a joke! they ignore all my emails! and no fookin way I am gonna phone them french fools as they cannt even type english, never mind speak it!

and it should not be legal! thats why people are using there credit cards to get there cash forced back from dvdthievingsooon! problem is I used a debit card, so I am stuffed. check the dvdforums thread on them! its shocking!

They are Scum at the moment, they just seem to be on the peak of jumping into the abyss to hell. Put it this way I have not ordered anything from them in months now, and from the look of it never will again as they may go bust soon from the sound of all this crap.

I had 43 dvd on order at stunning prices about 1 month ago, they have canceled about half of them!!!!!!!!! as they were such good deals they just happened to not be able to get them antymore

stranget thing is they still take orders for them on the site!!!!!

Now I have loads of credit! and cannot spend it as whatever I order I will not get from them as they dont get stock anymore! as there suplier went bust!

They've always replied in English for me.

Besides if they are based in a French speaking part of Canada then it's fair to assume English won't be their first language.

I did say you should get a credit card. I'd speak to your bank. I doubt there is nothing you can do.

DVD Soon do have English operators. You just have to wade thru the automated options to speak to one.

Romero is right about the refund service being cancelled. The reason is obviously because the company is fucked and are terrified of everyone pulling their money out - money they may not be able to even afford to return without a fight.

Bad enough if it's for a couple of orders, but if like Romero you have 40+ you seriously need to talk to your card company or you may loose a bunch of money when the company finally goes bust - and it's sure looking that way isn't it?

Romero was talking about the telephone as well. They never e-mail you back. But if you can get an operator they're not likely to hang up on you.

Yeah, AFTER money is refunded. But I don't really want to see any company go bust. I'd rather service resumed to the standard it once was. But that won't happen now...

At the moment things are changing and it looks like they are going thru massive changes, but not going bust. For one thing they wont be taking cash upfront anymore

so I say they are not going under, but its all very shady and someone needs to take them to court for being scum. I sent them loads of emails this year and go NO relpy ever, other email them and get response in minutes

not fair.
