Just ordered:

House of Flying Daggers (SE) from CD-WOW. They told me they got the new batch in quite a while back, havent had any comments about it (but confirm its "real" NTSC as opposed to a NTSC-PAL conversion) so the faults must have been sorted out.

White Dragon I thought was reasonably entertaining but not a keeper. But omg Cecilia Cheung's voice just sends my arach-nads spinning a web of love...

She's the only woman with a voice sexier than any part of her body (that is already strikingly sexy).

Bruce Lee and Pink Panther

Post by grim_tales »

I got Bruce Lee: The Lost Interviews today from Play. Brad what does the packaging look like on yours? Mine says Firefly and is Region Free? :?

Also, I've just watched a couple of Panther 'toons (The Pink Phink and Shocking Pink). TBH it look wierd seeing the cartoons in W/S, everything looked odd being "stretched" (particularly the panther himself), this is a shame because otherwise the cartoons look excellent, never better (some cleaning up must have taken place). The colours and prints look a lot better :)
The original cinema versions must have been used too, (I think?) for example, "Shocking Pink" has canned laughter, but a later TV showing of that episode used in the "Pink Panther Show" that I have on VHS is sans the laughter. :?

all these DVDs from globalvideo.co.uk

Dark Angel series 1 & 2 £13.99 each
Slumber Party Massacre £1.99
Serial Mom £2.99
Demon Slayer £1.99

The two £1.99 ones sounded and looked so bad the might actually be good, and should have the obligatory T&A scene(s) hopefully!!

How the fuzz was it that cheap? It would have cost me that much to rent!! :D
Not Jackie's best US film by a long way but its' good fun.

Why does Coogan get the girl in the end? Its not really fair on Jackie since Coogan spends the whole film being mean to Monique (who IMO was incredibly cute! ;) ) and yet Jackie was nice to her and was keen on her

The R1 is £5.99 at cdwow and with the £2.50 that is available for discounts there - £5.99 - £2.50 = £3.49.

I think I got a bit of a bargain... but that is only provisional until I've actually watched the film!!!

I recently got:

Emmanuelle 2 from CD-WOW rentals - the Momentum DVD looks to be a different (longer?) print than the version that used to play often on C5 :P The film looks a lot more "arty" with the French credits and stuff - not sure why that is, but make of that what you will. :D This version opens differently (on a boat) for example.
