I was not even on about The Hut  but now you mention it I bet you never used Quidco and the 10% voucher at The Hut anyway  well done more cash down the drain for you then.

I've had a Quidco account for ages but only use it for big orders (switching electricity companies was the last one) because referrer links (you know the ones which load up the site you're buying from) always fail on my computer. I've no idea but the links never load and just give me "page cannot be displayed" type things.

I've e-mailed Quidco and spent ages trying to work it out. I've no idea why. So have to use my work PC. That makes it impractical for small orders.

But obviously you know me so well, you already knew this.

Now how much was that bet for? :D.

Like I said, actually post who you're on about then? Why talk in riddles?

It's my money, not yours. And you still care, why exactly?

It'll probably be your security suite.

You'd think so but I've tried that. I've even tried it on my brother's XP laptop, without ANY Security software/Windows Firewall/Anti-Malware installed and bam the same problem. I spent ages on it at the time. I've no idea why the links won't load.

I get as far as the refer link and it fails over but the same link works at work. It had no security software incidentally as I was in the middle of putting something else on for him and thought I'd give it a try.

I had that bug when using Windows Explorer 8 on my old PC, my new one had it working perfect, they both used the exact same firewall/viruschecker etc.. so that was odd. I only used IE8 as I flushed the cookies and history regulary to make sure all cashback sites etc,, worked perfectly. I use Firefox for everything else on the net.

It doesn't work in IE8 or Firefox 3.6 :(. Quidco support were naturally useless.

Best bet I would say is a forum like AVforums, some of the guys on the Blu Ray/dvd bargain thread on there help me plenty  so many people use Quidco on there that someone will have had your bug and can at least advise you.

I've no idea why I didn't think of it before but I've just worked out what was causing it.

I use a modified HOSTS file, that blocks selected dodgy sites from even being able to see the outside world to start with. It works "above" Security software, which naturally is designed (for the most part) to block stuff "once it's got in". I must've added this file to my brother's XP laptop too. He's now got a new Windows 7 laptop and the XP one is going to be wiped soon anyway.

tradedoubler.com was in the list because it obviously adds a Tracking Cookie to your PC. I've edited my HOSTS file and deleted all references ending in tradedoubler.com. It's one of those things that's probably overkill but the theory is certainly solid.

You can get it here: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

It now works. At least I know the HOSTS file is doing it's job :D.

Ssh I was wrong, I meant Top Cash Back but don't let Romero hear about it :D. It "was" broken on Quidco too though, same reason.

I had no idea it had even come out. Thanks. Great film and an acceptable disc. It's odd the commentary from their UK DVD is missing:

It's the same price at Amazon and Play.

There's no mention on DVD Active etc... at all.

Can you let me know the UPC number when it arrives please. I cannot find it on DVD Profiler.

Sure. I get the feeling Icon don't send out review copies, because their Blu-ray of The Rules of Attraction came out of nowhere as well (and uncut, very possibly against the BBFC's wishes).

I cannot even find announcements, let alone review copies. Thanks btw.

I'd pick it up for sure but am uber skint for the next 2-3 weeks. I looked at my bank balance earlier and almost fell of my chair in shock.

LMK what you think of the AV quality. Do you have the UK DVD to compare?

Yeah, their Rules of Attraction BD appears totally untampered with as well PQ-wise.

Thanks.

I was typing Y tu mama when I should've just searched for y tu. It's listed Y tu mamá también, making it annoying to find. There's also a an Aussie BD but it's also an Icon release, so I imagine it's identical. It is oddly region free though, versus region B for the UK release.

Have you seen it before?

p.s - I take it the book hasn't made it to the BD release? The first batch of UK DVDs came with a book, which I have.

Yeah I saw it on TV a while ago and really enjoyed it, and thought I'd wait for a BD release. Nope no booklet with the Blu-ray.
