Ridley is preparing an extended cut of Prometheus for home release that will be approximately 20 minutes longer:

IMAX 3D I presume, not that I've ever done so but the 3D certainly didn't spoil the film, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to watch it in 2D when it's out on Blu-ray.
