Hmmm... didn't look that impressive tbh. The villain looked a bit lame, and perhaps it's because there were a bit too many 'close' shots (but perhaps that was just a choice by whoever edited this trailer together.

Also the small fight-sequence with Jet Li looked a bit 'slow'.

Maybe they went a bit too far with the B-movie grab-back to the 80's.

Well it is not out for nearly a year, so the silly slap bang wallop hackjob trailer is a joke to bring out so early anyway.

Anyone else just a bit excited about this film? I can't wait to see THE EXPENDABLES featuring Sly Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Steve Austin, Randy Couture and more! In one film. Crazy. I can almost smell the testosterone!!! Roll on 2010 and... BRING ON THE EXPLOSIONS!!!

Good old Eric Roberts hamming it up as a cartoonish villain in a B film, that's what he does best. It's when he tackles serious roles that he stumbles, see his rubbish job as a mob boss on trial in The Dark Knight.

Not really all that impressed yet by the trailer. We'll see. It seems a bit all over the place, and there wasn't much interesting going on. Action didn't look all that impressive in the way it was shot.

But hey, I'm sure it will be lots better than that A-team flick that's coming out.

Obviously I can't read the text, but that's a damn low score :D (1.5 outta 5) Can't say I'm all that surprised, although the review most likely an april fools day prank ;)

I'm really looking forward to this. At first I wasn't so sure but it seems only Stallone knows how to make a decent action film and by that, how they made them in the 80!

No. 1 at the US box office with a $35m opening weekend.

I'm sure the sequel has already been greenlit.

Well $35 mill is less than I expected, depends on its second week I guess then before they run and make part 2, as hell it has cost well over $100 mill to get out and advertise.
Still as long as other territories are as fine as that it should make some profit as long as everyone doesn't run away after week 2 :D
Mind you going from when I saw it the film should have legs, the crowd was cracking so many ages! even old grannies! so it appeals to many that's for sure. Everyone was chuckling at the harder gore moment of people getting blown away, hard to take any of it serious even when its nasty stuff on screen.

The TV ads in the UK are funny at the moment, they show the gore bits! never seen that in a TV ad before on UK TV. They show the hardest stuff, like massive knife slashing with exploding blood and people getting decimated by shotgun blasts! in a 15 seconds TV ad! that was more gore than in the crappy trailers in the cinema! They should have done much better gore filled ads in the cinemas thats for sure, it looked PG from the trailers.

$35m for an R-rated guy movie is pretty good.

It beat the chick flick (Eat, Pray Love) and kid movie (Scott Pilgrim) rivals.
Both of those were PG-13.
