Poor Harrison. Taking second billing to Ryan zzzzzz Gosling in a sequel to a film he starred in.
Bradavon: As probably the only guy on this forum who has snogged another man (3 times in fact), it didn't do a lot for me but I didn't hate it either. Who doesn't like a snog?

Now that Alien: Covenant teaser is out, this is the one I'm looking forward to more. Some may complain that this isn't directed by Scott, but franky I don't think there's any indication Scott is still able to make the kind of great film he made in 1979. Sure, he'd make a good film but great? Probably not. Villeneuve is a much more interesting bet: with him you may lose but you may also win big time. Let's see what we'll get.

Villeneuve is the only reason I'm cautiously optimistic about this project. Even Villeneuve needs a solid script though, so that 's my biggest worry. I also have to say that between ARRIVAL, this and him being courted to direct a new adaptation of DUNE, I'm sort of stunned that the director of POLYTECHNIQUE and INCENDIES (still by far his best film) has somehow reinvented himself as the possible saviour of cinematic science fiction.

Trailer:

I think this looks terrible so far. The future presented in this trailer is literally a pale shadow of what we saw in the original film. It is so much less detailed and colorful. Everything looks cheap.

The trailer looks less promising than the teaser, but I still have pretty high hopes for this. I trust that the trailer is worse than the film.

One thing I don't really like in the trailer are the images of nature... Blade Runner shouldn't have any IMO. I guess that makes sense considering the original theatrical cut is Villeneuve's preferred version of the original (a worrying sign, but I'm trying to ignore it).

Making of featurette:

Somehow this found me in a more forgiving mood than the last trailer. Maybe it was the shots from the original. Maybe it was the lack of greenery and new clips of the nighttime cityscape. It also looks like they might be using miniatures instead of going full CGI.
