Ashes To Ashes S2: DVD/BD

Post by grim_tales »

Brad have you bought this yet? Is the BD a DVD upscale like Life on Mars?

Erm. that's the DVD. For some reason Life on Mars has been given the BD treatment but not Ashes to Ashes S1/S2. No I've not bought it and doubt I would. I love both series but am happy with my recordings off TV. I'd never watch it.

Maybe Ashes To Ashes S1/2 will be on BD later. Of course that is the DVD  I just assumed a BD was round the corner.

Is Life on Mars definitely an SD up-convert?

From what I've read on here I think it is - Sam and Eva say it is :)

Yeah, the Life on Mars BDs are definitely upscales.

Pointless upgrading then since your player upscales DVD anyway.

Yep. Grrr! :(. I guess they didn't actually film them in HD or it's some cock up.

Are there any reviews Eva? I've checked out the reviews on DVD Basen and all give them low PQ ratings but none say they're upscales. Come on and release Ashes to Ashes!

I researched LoM BDs thoroughly a few months back. It was threads on forums such as DVD Talk and possibly AVF that the answers. Based on the feedback of people who had bought the discs.
