Coming in April:
http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/the-good-t ... 00314.html
Quite expensive though

(Presumably this is the upcoming remastered version). Would be even better with both cuts please.
Annoyingly the US release seems to be the whole trilogy set or nothing (at least via Amazon), I already have the first 2 Dollars movies on BD (German).
We need to tell MGM/Fox we want both cuts of the movie.

I think Zavvi always say that if a pre order hasnt gone live yet, it's confusing.

This is currently in the 3 for £20/5 for £30 offer in HMV.Or i think £8.99 on it's own.I picked it up with the remastered Fargo & The Great Escape.

Probably because the Mono is a downmix of the 5.1.in Mark's eyes a reason to get the pitchforks out.

i imagine it's the same as on the previous BD...to be fair it's a screw up,they did advertise restored mono. i'm at a point now where i don't care enough to get angry or particularly bothered though,at 50 you start to realise life's too short to worry about such things

I agree, I'll stick with this BD until they re-release it again (surely they will), I bet they put it on then.
I had a quick a look at the disc earlier and the transfer looks excellent btw

1. No original mono (as Sam correctly guessed)
2. Extended non director-approved recut.
3. Ugly revisionist yellow and teal colour timing.

That's very close to Leone's original version that he wanted us to see (minus the grotto scene). MGM's stupidity is not making the US version available.

Leone didn't approve a version with redubbed lead actors and new Foley effects.
He did at least approve of the US theatrical cut even if it isn't his director's cut (which in English never existed).
As far as I'm concerned there are two legit versions: the US theatrical cut (English) and the longer Italian version (no grotto scene). Both completed in 1966.
Anything else is bogus revisionism not worth my time.

Interesting... fantastic news if true, I'd wait for confirmation before purchasing however.

Still the Extended Cut, which at best means a mishmash of original and new audio.
Pass.

True, definitely an improvement

Apparently they redid the grotto scene as well.
I've just ordered it
