I think Amazon comes under a new category of marketing, they stick so titles up on the site which have never even been announced, in any form, then are forced to take them down when everyone says bullshit. Yet they stick prices to them even sometimes.
The LOTR Blu Rays seem fine as they are kind of semi confirmed now, but Amazon just seem to do odd things too often.

Just give me the Extended Cuts in excellent HD Picture/Audio and I'll be happy. I don't care about the extras. I've never watched my DVDs ones. For me it's extras overkill.

I'm with Brad on this one. I can't remember the last time I watched an extra on a dvd.
I just want the films with top notch picture quality and sound on one disc each.
That's it.
I hope they release a barebones EE for those that don't care about extras.

I've been watching all the extras on the recent Dario Argento Blu-rays from Arrow, otherwise I rarely bother with extras nowadays either.

Well apart from GOOD Documentaries and good commentaries thats all I want. LOTR has them in abundance, sadly they wont be HD!
Featurettes, artwork, tit tat and shitty out takes and general bullshit I dont care about.

I may watch the odd short one, some extra I'm particularly interested in but never these massively long ones.

I'd be up for that but it's never gonna happen.

Once you've seen one making-of of a big CGI-laden blockbuster you've seen 'em all, yawn.

Oh for fuck sake that is just ridiculous. It's £75! They better release a standard extended box set too. 15 discs!
I strongly believe they're doing this just so they can say "it's the biggest box set ever". Definitely extras overkill. I wonder if this means each film will be spread across two discs? Even taking into account the extras discs from the previous release, that still leaves 3 new DVDs (the previous box set, each film had 2 discs for the film and 2 for the extras).

I think they have digital copies as well (which to me are pointless) so it would be 12 if you take them away.
I'll wait and see whether they get a remaster for example.

Anyone in the world who pays close to £75 is a total fuckwit. Do not even mention RRP as its dumb to even say it.
It will cost a fraction of that within months.
May be time to sell up one of my Lord of the Rings Taiwan wooden chests for £150 to upgrade to hd.

Good point Grim.
I'd still be pissed off if the RRP was way out (which like you say is likely), 15 discs is absurd.

Yes and RRP means nothing at all in any way, so why they even state it is beyond me.

You lot seem to forget you can get the original trilogy on Blu Ray as low as the £10 mark.
What was its original RRP?
£74.99!
- so you seem to miss it had the SAME RRP price, and is now down to a tenner. That says it all.

Who's forgetting anything? We all know, competition means no one sells at the RRP but given it's an RRP, £75 is logical.
