Red Cliff Open Matte Blu Rays

Post by Toge »

I hear that they are Taiwan exclusive, any idea where I can pick them up from? DDDHouse and YesAsia didn't stock them last time I checked
I might only drop in and out but I'm still your admin... spiritually :P

Each to their own. Give me the proper aspect ratio any day.

Appears to have been filmed in Super 35 (2.35:1).

Unmatted you would have more picture at the top and bottom but that would be picture you weren't supposed to see...

I rarely find that information offers anything of any real value and the composition gets screwed up.

Yeah, you get more visual information! I mean, after all, my movie isn't complete if I don't have boom mics visible at the top of the screen and stunt mats visible on the bottom

As a film completist, I sometimes enjoy watching open matte films as a curiosity piece... but I'll always approve the director's intended aspect ratio over open matte any day. Although I heard the 2D and 3D versions of James Cameron's Avatar will be having two different aspect ratios... aw crap...
