The fact distributors have to even use Unrated is a joke. The MPAA rating system is a joke, it's effectively a 2 rating system. Which is absolutely absurd.

Indeed, it makes no distinction between adults and children.

I don't want to ban it. I really couldn't care less about that film as I have no intention of watching it. My topic header was ironic. Maybe I should've explained the context but there's a new bill being motioned by MPs Julian Brazer and Keith Vaz to take power away from the BBFC and give it to the state so that films with strong sex and violence would be effectively banned. SS Experiment Camp is one film they've seized upon using its supposed anti-semetism as an excuse. I guess the Melon Farmers link only explained so much but do a quick search and you'll learn more.

Oh right I didn't know that, fair enough then.

How serious are the government taking these MPs? It would certainly make a mockery of a independent rating system and definitely be against freedom speech.

It's one thing for an independent body to ban a film (which in itself isn't good) but another thing entirely for the government to get involved.

If the Government does get involved, I'm moving to France!

Or much easier and cheaper just import the films

Oh true, unless they put restrictions on importing - I highly doubt that, be too difficult now
