Hey,
I've just got a message in my PC System tray saying I can upgrade to/download Windows 10 for free :? Wondering whether I should try it but it sounds dodgy, I havent really backed up anything yet on 7 :dontknow:

It's genuine. I got that message, too. Not sure whether I like the new layout though. All a bit boxy with gimmicks I don't need. I prefer the style of Windows 7 HP. Unless it emerges there's a good reason to upgrade I'm unlikely to bother.

Windows 10? What happened to 9? I'm using 8.1 and I thought it was the latest...

I'm still on Windows 7 and I won't do the free upgrade, for multiple reasons but mostly because I'm still more than happy with W7. as well as privacy-concerns and such.

However, I'll be getting a new PC in the coming months, and no doubt that will come with Windows 10. Hopefully, by then, we will have more insight in all those privacy concerns, and how to tweak/alter those.

Call me old-fashioned, but I don't want the NSA to know I'm into vegetablefucking.org (it's non-profit and educational)
