Conclusion:-

The R1 SE and R2UK SE look almost exactly the same. The German release according to the DVD-Heaven comparison is a direct port of the R1 and a PAL-NTSC conversion. I recommend going for the R1 (even though the R2Gmy has more extras), it's cheap and has a native NTSC transfer that looks great on a normal TV. The Carpenter commentary is excellent and the Q&A session (w/ Carpenter and Austin Stoker) is well worth a watch.

Thanks Eva for the caps... :)

I slightly disagree though... I think the R1 is marginally better than the R2 (as opposed to them being equal) as it's slightly sharper.

Added to the fact that the R1 has great extras the barebones R2 doesn't and there's really no competition. Contender suck.

I'll try the Image R1. 8)

I've ordered it, but it's out of stock at the moment.
