X Factor - new series starting soon
Just saw an ad for this this morning - didnt say when it would start, it just said "Coming Soon" - so probably in the Autumn.
Expect another boyband type person like Shayne to win...

This show is such a joke. Except for:
* Girls Aloud - 4 HOT and 1 nearly HOT women is bound to sell
* Will Young
They've all dried up after 1 single. The last two winners of X-Factor didn't even get 1 hit. The fact is yes they can all sing that's a given but do they have:
* Star quality
* Charisma
* Stage factor
* Original material
NOPE, NOPE, NOPE and NOPE
Even the BBC seem to have given up on Fame Academy, that was really rubbish.

I don't see that there's much point to the show anymore.
It's open to everyone but you'll only win if you're a pop idol.
Last year was a mockery.
Damn thing gets addictive when you start watching though...

Yeah, Brenda was clearly very good and probably should of won but it was obvious Shayne would win as he ticked all the teen idol boxes. Bah :shock:Markgway wrote:I don't see that there's much point to the show anymore.

I agree it is addictive
LD when did X Factor first air in Germany? It first aired here in 2004 (I think), when Steve Brookstien (who?) won.
Chico's new song is apparently a cover of D-I-S-C-O. Whats the betting it will be C-H-I-C-O instead? Jeez, I like the guy but thats a bit ego-centric isnt it?

Mark did you see the first episode? Quite funny watching the genuinely bad people, but you do feel for guys like Sean (sp?), a 16 year old who's a bundle of nerves (don't blame him). Donna - was she Eastern European or something? kept begging Cowell and co to let her in
The guy who "sang" You Raise Me Up was a hoot

Edna the granny was classic - with her face and the Jaws music
I loved the You Raise Me Up guy when the season changed and it said Much much much later - LMAO.
I think both Sharon and Simon both had valid arguments for and against putting the kid through, I felt sorry for him Maybe Sharon and Louis's thinking is letting him through will boost his confidence but realistically Simon is right too. Better he comes back next year.

Has anyone seen Let Me Entertain You on BBC2 in the afternoon?
Well, its rubbish 8) Bad rip off the X Factor type format, except contestants have 3 minutes to impress the judge(s?) and can do whatever they like. Yesterday there was a Journey South type act singing Mrs. Robinson by Simon and Garfunkel. Good song and thought they were OK-ish, their voices were a bit wierd though, took a bit of getting used to, and they went on too long with the "do-do-do"'s at the start.
