Love & Loathing & Lulu & Ayano (Sato, 2010)

ok, here's something interesting. Most likely not quite the silly jdorama style look at the Japanese AV industry that Platonic Sex was, but a film by someone who knows his shit. Hisayasu Sato is quite (in)famous for his 1980's and 1990's films like Splatter: Naked Blood (1995) and Lolita Vibrator Torture (1987), which aren't exactly audience friendly movies. His new film Namae no nai onnatachi nevertheless looks more mainstream friendly, even slightly romantic, making it a very interesting director - movie project pairing.

The opening night (actually, morning) was fun too. Mayu Sakuma told the most difficult part about the film was to have cat lie still on the table for an entire dialogue scene, and Minoru Torihada was a real comedian. The guy kept making funny faces every time the press was taking photos, and even when they ask him to restrain himself he will just keep poker face for a few seconds and then the familiar smirk slowly starts making its way back to his face again...

Seems like Pathfinder is releasing Love and Loathing and Lulu and Ayano on R1 DVD . They've given it a new title Tokyo Stray Girls, and a youtube trailer that is cut in half:
