Re: Classic Japanese Exploitation (pinky violence & pink)

1. Female Delinquent: A Docu-Drama (実録不良少女 姦) (Toshiya Fujita, 1977) (genre: violence / delinquent girl) Ultra-realistic and ultra-violent bad girl drama. Imagine Kinji Fukasaku directing a Sukeban film with Toshiya Fujita ‘s usual youth film themes and social commentary. Fantastic performances, in...

Another (アナザー) (Japan, 2012) [BD] – 2/5 A middle school mystery flick based on a novel that was so popular it also spawned a manga and anime adaptation. There's nothing wrong with any of its technical aspects or the acting (nothing outstanding or noteworthy either) but I really don't care about mid...

August 2nd Happinet BD/DVD covers. As far as Happinet covers go, they did a pretty solid job this time! Obviously what they did with poor Circuit of Sorrow is bullshit but I think the Delicate Skillful Fingers BD looks OK and I'm frankly shocked by how much I like their cover for Secret Book: Sleeve...

Re: First Love (Miike, 2019)

Miike style, at his most and fun and anarchic.” Didn't they say the same thing about YAKUZA APOCALYPSE? I will watch it of course because Miike has earnied that lifetime pass in the late 90ies/early 00s but nothing in those two reviews leads me to expect a real return to form. A one year deleay bet...

Slave of the Cannibal God (Italy, 1978) [BD] - 2,5/5
A passable entry in the subgenre. Stacy Keach classes up the joint with some actual acting, production values are fine - mostly thanks to location shooting in Sri Lanka - and there's some pigshit insane stuff in the last third.

Link (UK, 1986) [BD] - 2/5
Elisabeth Shue gets chased around a house by a horny orangutan while clown music blares on the soundtrack. Gave me a headache.

The Devil's Honey (Italy/Spain, 1986) [BD] - 1.5/5
Lucio Fulci attempts to direct an erotic thriller with inept and embarrassing results.

Here's a review:

https://asianmoviepulse.com/2019/05/fil ... kira-nobi/

Apparently Asami is really good in it but the film itself is mediocre at best. The reviewer is also clearly unaware that this was her final acting role.

https://www.imgbox.de/users/gurotaku/abno.jpg And a classic Sato-ism: "I think a camera is a weapon that changes the way we look at facts." Sato was speaking metaphorically here, of course, but a camera becomes a literal murder weapon in a Abnormal (アブノーマル 陰虐, 1988) , a film he made a year after Lo...

I'll probably never end up seeing most of these films, but the reviews are much appreciated. I haven't really reviewed (m)any must-see Sato films in this thread so far. Office Lady Rape: Disgrace! (OL暴行汚す, 1986) is the closest to that kind of thing of the titles covered above. The rest is more for ...

https://www.imgbox.de/users/gurotaku/d.jpg Wife in Mourning: Pubic-Shaved Rope Slave (喪服妻と縄 そっと剃って!) for once has title that fits what the film is about. It's another Sato/Godai collaboration, this time from 1993. The script is a bit more interesting than the one for Wife's Perverted Beauty Salon ,...

https://www.imgbox.de/users/gurotaku/Untitled.jpg Wife's Perverted Beauty Salon (人妻変態美容師, 1994) is another minor entry into Sato's filmography that mostly coasts by on style. Kyoko Godai's screenplay isn't exactly complex, detailing the story of Marie, who got a beauty salon as an alimony payment i...

Kazuo Koike (1936-2019)

This news is already a few weeks old but it shouldn't go without mention, I think. Kazuo Koike was responsible for the source mangas for some of the most beloved and batshit insane films to ever come out of Asia: LONE WOLF AND CUB, LADY SNOWBLOOD, HANZO THE RAZOR, DEMON SPIES, CRYING FREEMAN and, of...

The Little Match Murder Girl (マッチ売りの殺人少女) (Japan, 2014) [DVD] - 3/5 Erotic horror offering from Naoyuki Tomomatsu with a much better and more engaging script than I expected. Re: Classic Japanese Exploitation (pinky violence & pink)

Maybe FANZA/DMM is just dedicated to shit quality and trying to make their HD streams look equally bad as the VHS era stuff? Amazing dedication, if that's the case, but really unfortunate because it's much easier for me to purchase from them than from amazon. As for Sex Crime Coast, I think it looks...
