On my desktop all my USB ports are performing at USB 1.1 speeds, not USB 2.0 speeds even though the motherboard is a USB 2.0 motherboard.
I've got an ASUS P5VDC-X motherboard and everything in the manual talks about the USB connectors being 2.0. But everytime I plug in a USB device I get the little pop up saying "This device could perform faster if connect to a hi-speed port" or something to that effect.
How do I get my USB ports to operate at the high speeds? As it is getting quite frustrating. It is all the ports, front and back that this happens to.
If there is any specific info that you need let me know.
Cheers.

Do you have the latest motherboard drivers installed? Have you checked the BIOS? (usually F2 or DEL when the PC is loading, before the Windows logo appears, so reboot and keep pressing the key). You could have it set to Legacy/USB 1.1 settings. The latter is more likely.
