So the HK cut is longer than the UK cut Romero or so you're saying?

I may get the French UE if the extras are in English or have English subs. I'm really more than happy with my HK DVD. I wouldn't say the French one is all out better, in some shots the HK DVD looks better.

Yup as far as I remember a few scenes popped up in the HK dvd I think, I could be wrong and have it the wrong way around mind you :? but the UK and HK version are different for a few scenes thats for certain.

So we can assume that:

HK cut = French cut = US unrated cut.
UK cut = US R-rated cut.

Not sure it is, the HK cut has a few scenes which are simple scenes in the shops etc.. noting making it unrated thats for sure.

You forget my young padewan (sp?) unrated DVDs aren't there because they need to be unrated they're there because it's a great marketing tool.

Many, many Unrated DVDs would easily pass R-Rated.

Not sure man. I might get this new French UE... looks sexilicious.

Mordib, I've heard too many stories about another MK film. I don't believe any of it. I reckon that there's a greater chance of me getting spanked by Goro's four hands in public, than there is of another MK title (I know which one most folk would rather see).

Long time since this thread :D but I am after the American HD DVD version of Unleashed (its looks cracking compared to the dvds). Its the American R Rated cut, any comparisons telling exactly what the difference is between all versions now?

This on IMDB says

# The Europa Ultimate Edition of the film contains deleted scenes like:

* 1) Danny admits to Sam that he 'hurts people'.
* 2) An incomplete fight-sequence at a indoor car park.
* 3) A 3D track shot inside the piano
* ..and also U.S version scenes include:
* 1) A longer montage of Bart taking Danny throughout Glasgow to collect money.
* 2) Alternate ending: instead of ending with a close-up of Danny, it simply ends with the piano crawl.

# The European version is entitled Danny The Dog and includes some more scenes including more character development between Freeman and Li and a different title sequence. It also includes a slightly different ending, one which ends on Danny's face.

So is that right then :D

Why do you want the USA cut? I'm not sure if it's out in the UK on HD but I'm pretty sure we got the USA cut too.

I hear the French cut is the better one. That's what the HK DVD has, which is the one I own.

I want the HD DVD out in america. Its the R rated cut only, just wondering exactly what was cut and cannot find much detailed on it apart from a few lines here and there.

This shows you why I want the HD version

http://whiggles.landofwhimsy.com/writin ... dsdhd.html

Makes the dvd look like crap.

I was wondering why you don't want the French cut on HD. Isn't it out in France? Thanks for the link.

Price really, the HD DVD from america is £6, cheap and chearfull.

The Japanese version is very different looking too mind you :)

(Universal, USA, VC-1, 12.8 GB) vs (Sony Pictures, Japan, AVC, 26.1 GB)

and size wise too.

Blu Ray Vs HD DVD here

Ahh found out some good wording of the changes here too

I've seen that Whiggles comparison before. That's a good site. Fair enough then about the price. Isn't it cheap at MovieTyme or DeepDiscount?

Well over Double the HD DVD price sadly :(

Still hey I am sure Unleashed will get a full on Blu Ray american release one day, then I can get that :D I would not mind a perfect version one day as I do love the film.

The Wiggles site for me is one of the best sites for real reviews from a person who knows his stuff and knows what he sees before his eyes in a DVD and HD, as frankly many so called reviewers out here are a joke. Infact so many entire sites are full of talentless jokers who think they know what they are on about, many even dont know compression from grain, that says it all :D
