Finally, I saw "Blade: Trinity" and it was all wrong. Kris Kristofferson was replaced with that guy from "Van Wilder," Parker Posey was taking time out from acting in the latest Christopher Guest "chuckle at earnest people" opus to shriek at people, and Blade was in fewer than half of the movie's scenes. To give you some idea of how bad "Blade: Trinity" is, the syndicated TV show of "Blade" is actually better. Yes, the show with a per-episode budget just high enough to get a bowl of soup and a cast list that reads like "failed rappers of the 90s" is superior.
Funnily they probably could've gotten Snipes for the TV series, if it had been made the series outside of the United States. He can't enter his the country because of his tax evasion. (thus all the DTV stuff that he's made recently, that's shot in like Eastern Europe.)

Damn, if they want a jowly bastard to mumble and wave his hands whilst someone half his size does all the action I'll do it for a quarter of the price... 8)EvaUnit02 wrote:Reportedly Seagull gets like $1-2 million per DTV picture.Markgway wrote:I wonder if that's why Seagal does all that Euro DTV crap?
...actually Seagal is surely much heavier than me??

Well I kinda liked "Blade: Trinity" - atleast I found it more enjoying than Blade 2. This series however, managed to keep my interest for almost an entire episode I watched 3 though - hoping it would pick up as I find the "premise" interesting. No such luck.
And yeah, DTV movies with "old stars" are usually cheap to produce/distribute and earn lots of money because folks say, "hey, Seagal, he was in that 'Under Siege' movie - let's check it out!" ... certainly they only do that once - but there are a LOT of those folks And some of them like those DTV movies

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Is that where it came from? I knew I heard it somewhere.
Anyway Blade the TV series was easily my favourite show of the current TV season. I loved how it all threaded together into one big story. The only let-down was the action could have been much better but the story more than made up for any weaknesses in the action, getting better and better as each week went by.
