I was asking for Salty's opinion. I don't believe he's ever reviewed it ;).

Nightmare you either get or you dont, I hated the visual style and the film was not much fun either, in the end it was pants for me. Still everyone else loves it, so what do I know :D

Lost Boys on the other hand is classic :D the 2 dvd standard special edtion is a joke beyond words! 2 dvds yea, both containing barly nothing on them! the film takes up 3GB for gods sake! and they still put the extras on the second bloody disc, which was about 2GB!!!!!!! talk about 2 dvd edtion for NO REASON!

I do hope they acctually do some fun extras for the HD version :( as the extras were poor for the 2 dvd version, not sure how many of them are new.

I enjoyed The Lost Boys more when I was a kid... doesn't hold up as well as some 80s cult films. The Goonies Meets The Vampires.

Still, it's WAY better than either Batman Forever or Batman and Robin.

James Bond on BD, in France this November:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/1802

You'll need to copy/paste, as the link gets cut off. None of the first batch interest me.

Fingers crossed they get:

DTS-HD MA 5.1
DTS-HD MA 2.0/1.0

But I bet they'll just have 5.1.

I prefer proper direct links, besides it's not worth it. People are capable of copy/pasting.

I only would if it was a massively long URL.

Learn to read, Mr. Trigger happy ;) -

I knew someone wouldn't bother to read the post :D :?. It should be obvious if you look at the link, only part of it is formatted.

Try again. I've just noticed High Def. Digit links also have a "short link" too. You don't need to copy/paste it any more.

You didn't, it would've worked if you had. I tested it a few times. You must've not copy/pasted all the text.

No. I don't like Tinyurl's. I want the proper direct link not some third party one.

I've fixed it now anyway. Try again.

Fingers crossed Fox don't give us bare-bones discs!

On the same day, Fox will also scare up 'The Omen: The Collection,' a four-film box set featuring the original 'The Omen,' its two sequels 'Damien: Omen II' and 'The Final Conflict,' plus the 2006 remake 'The Omen: 666'

I hate it when they bung in the new film with the originals. The new film always sticks out like a sore thumb. So many of these Quadrilogies are to me "Trilogy + 1".

Indiana Jones is definitely an example of that. I'll be annoyed if Paramount only release them separately or one 4 part box set. I'd have to buy them separately. Star Wars is the same. It's two Trilogies and certainly not one 6 part story.

I'd only buy 2/4 Indy films... so I'm hoping for an individual option.

What do you mean by 2/4? I thought you'd buy Part 1 and 3.

That's probably what he means.
2 out of 4, no?
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Nightmare Before Christmas complete specs.

OAR 1.66:1, lossless audio. The listed extras sound promising.
# NEW! Film Commentary – commentary by producer and writer Tim Burton, director Henry Selick and composer Danny Elfman.
Hopefully they were all recorded together. Burton is one of the worst solo commentators ever.

'Star is Born' Blu-ray to Receive 6k Restoration:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/1800

Is it necessary to remaster at such a high resolution?

Thanks for the link, Bradavon. Judy Garland kicks arse.

Resolutions that high are likely to completely preserve every bit of detail offered from a 35mm source.

Futureproofing is another reason. The higher the res, the longer they can use the master (unless they totally cocked up the remastering, like they did with Suspiria). As you know, Blu-ray is 2K HD.

I though that was why but wouldn't a 6K Remaster made in 2008 (roughly) still be old 5 years from now? Technology moves on.

That's good.

I think I've only seen Judy Garland in Wizard of Oz, she was good in that.
