In case someone hasn't heard, BCI will be coming up with a bunch of Kitano dvds

Violent Cop
Boiling Point
A Scene at the Sea
Getting Any?
Kids Return
Hana-bi
Takeshis'

There was also a recent UK Kitano Box Set but the quality wasn't so good, apparently.

Thanks Hung. What's been the reception on BCI's past releases, particular the transfers?

I'm not really that familiar with the company. They've been putting out a bit of this and that. So far it has depended a lot on the source material. They released those Grindhouse Double Features (now called Exploitation Double Features, as Harvey got angry), and they have a bunch of Shaw Bros. releases (also Blu-Ray) coming up. Police Story 3 and other Goldent Harvest titles also on their way. Cliff Mac, who used to run Adness and Ronin Entertainment, now works for them (and took the Chiba titles with him, so the re-releases now carry a BCI logo).

BCI used to be a bootleg company years ago, but that past now.

As for these upcoming Kitano dvds I remember they said they would try to get some new extras, maybe perform a few interviews with Kitano. I guess that means they are serious.

EDIT: more info

They're gonna start releasing some SABU films as well hopefully, starting with Unlucky Monkey.

With exception to their upcoming shaw releases, i was always under the impression that BCI simply ported titles over and did not bother to correct any mistakes from previous versions.

I liked Brother but Omar Epps ruined my mood near the end.
