Shing, you're spoiling the film pretty effectively for those who haven't seen it.
Certainly one reason why Saw was so well received was that when it came out it was something new. I can't remember if it was the first, but it was at least one of the first new hard R horror films that came out after those 700 pg-13 horror films...

Alien 3 Extended (Workprint) Cut is a quite good film, easily a fine piece of work, very underrated. Mind you, I've never seen the theatrical cut.
Being on a planet with no traditional ballistic weapons and the fast moving bipedal dog-alien make for quite an entertaining scenario.
One change for the better in the TC is the origin of the dog-alien. Xenomorphs take on traits of their host species. In the Workprint it's birthed from a Ox, which doesn't make any sense, because Alien 3's Xenomorph is definitely not bulky nor slow moving. In the TC, the host is well, a dog.

Give the theatrical cut a watch, well worth it just so see the large amount of changes. I alternate between the two, as the work print is a bit tatty quality at times and does kind of pull me out of the film once in a while.EvaUnit02 wrote:Alien 3 Extended (Workprint) Cut is a quite good film, easily a fine piece of work, very underrated. Downfall: UK BD -
* According to this it sneaked out 12/02/09 - http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDet ... sku=838316
* £11.37: http://www.dvd.co.uk/DVD/Downfall-Blu-R ... roduct.htm
A review: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.ph ... how=review
Oddly it's only DD5.1. Not even DTS from the UK DVD, although taking into account the DVDs DTS is probably half-rate, it likely matches the DD5.1 anyway. It also looks like they've replicated most/all of the 2 Disc SE DVD extras and even fixed the subtitles (HoH on the UK DVD). The USA DVD commentary is still missing but I wasn't expecting that.
I'm definitely interested in this, it's fantastic.

Sony Bundles Up 'Crouching Tiger' in Blu-ray Box Set:
http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/2764
About bloody time. It better get a single disc release soon after. I already own Curse and House is cut in the US, plus it's a piss poor BD. I've been waiting for this one for ages.
Curse is Region A btw but House isn't. I hope it Mandarin PCM or TrueHD, some new extras would be nice too. Oh and a proper clean-up this time.
I'd love the original R3 subs were included but I'm not expecting this one.
