I prefer the HKL quality.

I'd go with the IVL.

It may appear pinkish compared to the HKL, which is a bit colourless, but also richer and less dull.

At least the HKL print was done before they started pinkifying everything.

To be honest WAY has never looked that great, as by and large it's a poorly photographed film.

Huh? Your reason for not getting the HKL Platinum of "Fist" is coming to my mind.

The IVL looks nothing like HKL's Fist of Fury.

The only cap that shows any pinkiness is the one with everyone in the restaurant and that's partially because the HKL has lesser contrast and is next to washed out.

None of the other IVL (or HKL for that matter) caps look pinkified to me whereas HKL's Fist was dramatically changed in every shot I've ever seen.

What about the audio, Mark? That's what LD meant.

Wow! DVD Heaven had a comparison which was far superior to the HKL. Here, it looks like the differences are niggling :? !

Can you find that comparison please Chenlung?

It's the same as the other BL DVDs:

Fox: Mandarin Mono
IVL: Cantonese Mono or Mandarin DD5.1
HKL: Cantonese DD5.1 (but restrained)

I was expecting the IVL to look way (no pun intended :D) better but there's not much in it here. The HKL even looks better which I find hard to believe.

Why HKL's WOTD: PE looks way worse than both their original TBB or both FOF's is beyond me. It sorely needs fixing, it's a mess in places.

Just to add Grim said the Fox is night and day in comparison with the HKL (I don't know which he has) being loads better.

Salty: What's it like in real terms?

It does, although brightness/contrast are iffy in the 2nd last capture above.

In Chen's link (thanks) the IVL looks much better.

p.s - How shit is Legacy of Rage? I'm considering getting that 2 disc box set to get WOTD too.

Nice one thanks Chen.

In that DVD Muff comparison the IVL is clearly the winner. It's soo bloody annoying these can't be bought separately. Sure at first get some of the pricier box set money but these have been out ages.

Is it the big ass box set you own Salty? Agreed but then no version of WOTD is a revelation.

You do own it and a real-world test means much more than captures. If I could buy it on it's own I already would.

about half the width of a typical tv box set.nice 3d image switching between brandon/bruce on the cover. you wouldn't see legacy of rage as a keeper brad,it's a watchable hk potboiler but nothing special.both movies come in their own keepcases though. doubt you'd get much for legacy on ebay .i paid £10.99 after vouchers at cd-wow

It's no longer on CD WOW and £10.99 is a bit pricey for one HK film (LOR doesn't count).

I'll get it one day. Cheers
