Infernal Affairs Trilogy box set
As most know, this has been out in HK for ages but it costs a fortune (about £50). See here:
http://www.dddhouse.com/v3/product_deta ... uctID=8509
Palisades Tartan are releasing it in The UK tomorrow (27th of December), it says it's an Amazon exclusive:

But I've discovered they also released it on the 11th of October:

It looks to currently be an HMV exclusive, so I guess is moving to an Amazon exclusive. I cannot find it listed period anywhere except HMV, not even currently Amazon.
Despite the awful cover art, this is good news. I've wanted the HK BD box set for ages but it costs so much. The spec. for the Tartan box set looks about the same as the HK box set. Hopefully IA has been improved, the HK BD is supposed to be pretty lame.

£30 for the UK box set or £50 for the HK box set? Pay £20 more for better cover art, if you like .
When it's closer to £20 I'll pick it up.

I saw that set in my local HMV a couple of months back, roughly between £30-40. Looked pretty cheap packaging wise - but then so does Warner's Lethal Weapon collection. I liked the first film fine, but wasn't enamoured with the rushed out prequel and sequel.

Sure. I don't watch the Godfather trilogy too often but I've still picked that up. I've still got the DVD box set though. It's enough for me.HungFist wrote:You guys actually gonna watch these again?
The first film is excellent, the prequel/sequel good. Whilst obviously inferior, they didn't feel rushed to me.Markgway wrote:I liked the first film fine, but wasn't enamoured with the rushed out prequel and sequel.

Both were released within a year of the original's debut.bradavon wrote:Whilst obviously inferior, they didn't feel rushed to me.

They didn't FEEL rushed to me. I think all three are excellent. Not sure if I'll bother with a BR-upgrade though.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

That's normal for Hong Kong though. If they were American movies, it would've hurt but less so with Hong Kong movies.Markgway wrote:Both were released within a year of the original's debut.

But that means they conceived, wrote, shot, edited, printed, advertised TWO major movies in 12 months.
