Contender? Don't they own/owned HKL? I thought they (HKL) didnt exist anymore.

I would imagine that Contender's rights have since expired and did they ever include BD?

I doubt it, BD wasnt around then. Perhaps Cineasia will have the rights or another distributor will get them. I want mono on the BL films though.

HKL (not sure about Contendor) never released any BDs. True but you never know about licenses. Maybe no one owns the rights.

Maybe you're right but I'm sure someone will get them eventually.

SPL/KILL ZONE has been passed with an uncut '15' cert by the BBFC.

That's a surprise. I seem to recall the film being very brutal and bloody. Even the HK censors gave it a Cat III for violence.

I guess they just made a mistake :D as no way that is a 15, for the nasty knife work alone its an instant 18. Obviously someone messed up on that, or it is cut to hell.

Shinjuku Incident is passed as 18 without cuts.

Running time seems to be shorter than the uncut HK version though?

Yeah, PAL speed.

Cine Asia release uncut versions.

Still wondering how SHINJUKU can be an '18' but SPL is a '15'(?)

I watched Flashpoint and loved it, but an 18! jesus SLP decimates it for violence, stabbing, cutting and general pain. Strange ratings.

Yup while it was hard hitting, no way it was an 18. If flashpoint had a tonne of knife welding stabbers and killing, then yes I could understand it, but the most violent bits were off screen and artfully done in a odd way :D unlike SLP which showed the full nasty stuff in your face and on screen.

The graphic arm-chopping scene in Shinjuku will be what gained it an 18, Shinjuku doesn't have a tremendous amount of violence in it, but what there is is reasonably graphic and usually in the kind of context that gets BBFC attention.

I'd take that date with a pinch of salt, KillZone was due on 8th March but doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere and Fist of Legend review copies are MIA despite it due out on Monday.

I saw Kill Zone in HMV last week. So it is out.

Tai Chi Master has been passed with an uncut '15'.

Yeah I shoud have stated that I was talking about the Blu-ray releases. Did you see the DVD or Blu-ray Mark? DVD seems to be out but I'm having a hard time finding reviews of the BD.

Kill Zone showing as out of stock at Play and my pre-order of Fist Of Legend is still showing pre-order,the wednesday before release would normally be showing order placed or packing by now, i'm guessing the blu-rays have met with delay.
