BOSS is about 94/95 minutes long at PAL speed.
I found that when BOSS was submitted to the BBFC in 1972 it was 105 minutes long. Could this be the Mandarin print?
there's an alleged blu-ray rip of Big Boss knocking about.gives a runtime of 99mins 41secs.

It's you. These are Bruce Lee films remember. Thanks Salty. Please post FOF next.

They look great to me. Clearly the same masters as the Fortune Star DVDs.

Didn't fortune star originally use excessive noise removal techniques on the print damage? Might explain why the transfer looks so soft. Colours look oversaturated as well.

Really? The FOF ones look rough.

Fortune Star do love their over saturation :D. Haven't all their transfers been this way?
Markgway wrote:Even the grass looks red.
It looks like over saturated brown to me, as it should be (as in brown).

Agreed. Those caps do NOT look anything like HD quality.

Not criticizing Sam, just saying that I hope they aren't representative of the overall quality.

On the plus side, the colours are much more natural.

The grass looks brown as in no water but lots of sun.

It is weird how the TBB ones are over saturated but the FOF ones are the complete opposite.

I getcha now. Yes, the grass is dried, but even so... too red.

I know which I prefer.

I prefer the TBB ones but purely because the FOF ones look so utterly rough but overall neither are perfect. The FOF one doesn't look at all HD and for £19 I expect it to look at least a bit like HD.

Salty, are these captures accurate?

I Said many posts up these captures are from 720p BD rips.Obviously the blu-ray itself will have far better resolution than this.i'm only posting them to give people an idea of the transfer used for these releases :) have a couple more from TBB

My question was in response to that. Even taking that into account it still doesn't explain why FOF looks so different. Sure we don't want it but you'd think they'd bolster the colours on FOF too. FOF looks worse than my HKL PE DVD!

This looks pretty final to me. The Western versions won't be seen for years, unless Fox happens to release. Who on earth is going to release them in The UK? I'm not paying £19 for FOF though no.

p.s - At Salty, true.

The opening shot (Bruce in the rain) looks a bit hazy, the second shot looks good, as does the screen with text on it.

I would imagine any distributor who releases asian films (CineAsia, Icon, Metrodome, etc) would be very interested in releasing the Lee films on BD over here. I'd say that the only HK classics that are a sure thing to come out in HD over here are The Big Boss and Fist of Fury, as Bruce Lee films have always been priority releases, they were on DVD and they will be on BD.
