Ah OK :) Thanks.
I'll read reviews first, DD might of used a different translation, the one they used for Come Drink With Me is very bad.

Been suggested that Momentum will be using new subs. Have to wait and see.

Maybe I'll upgrade one day then :)
How does the R1 of King Boxer compare to the R3?

hey,

R3 release was one of those anamorphic discs that was simply upconverted from non anamorphic and it showed quite badly.

Whats wrong with those statements beside maybe some awkward grammar in the first one? Is 36th supposed to be Cantonese? I always find information on the language of Lau's earlier films conflicting.

Yes, Mandarin. I hope they manage to release My Young Auntie with Cantonese at some point.

So no HD release then? if they put in all the work, surley they have created a HD master for Blu Ray. Now that I would upgrade in a heartbeat over my old Region 3 version.

I emailed a number of things to them about these films (promo materials, alternative credit sequences, etc), but unfortunately due to legal shit with their contract to Celestial, Momentum couldn't act on it.

The biggest disappointment was that they couldn't use my 35mm trailer (or my 16mm teaser) for '5 Fingers Of Death'. The existing trailer is in such a shit state (double converted video-rip), that I begged for a new transfer - we'd get HD (if a Blu-Ray were to come along), a clean-up and no conversion bullshit. I asked if a side-deal was possible with Celestial, but got no response. Such a missed opportunity that I'm so disappointed at. I'd still supply them the materials, but I'm not sure they're interested anymore. Maybe if there was enough complaints about the state of the trailer on the disc that would give them the boost negotiate some special deal, but I don't know. They were nice enough to me though.

Fortunately, we will still get the re-done subtitles I asked - that element did not make the screeners and I look forward to watching both films again. People under-estimate how much subtitles can change a perspective on a film.
