N.B. The Studio Canal HD-DVD is encoded with VC-1 on a HD30 disc, with a DTS-HD Master 5.1 track. The audio pitch is also at the proper speed.

All these shots should be in the theatrical cut, so the addition of captures from any TC discs should be easy.

Many thanks to Lourdes for the image hosting.

Shot 5 and 6 are crackers of a difference. Shame the HD versions a bit compressed in places, but a significant improvment still.

When you say EU HD which country? or are the fench and UK ones the same?

Correct, all the barebones European HD-DVDs should be the exact same disc.

The images choosen to compare the discs are ussually the exact same shots on every forum. Its great to see some new images as really the difference is so much bigger in some of them HD shots. Makes me want to get it right now :D as I just sold one of my standard dvds for £9, so that should pay for a nice HD picture.

Great captures thanks Eva. I cannot wait to see T2 in HD. I'm still debating whether to get the German UE or forthcoming UK BD.
romerojpg wrote:When you say EU HD which country? or are the fench and UK ones the same?
The German UE HD-DVD from Kinowelt is different (although it's suspected they just tweaked the French Studio Canal master) but the UK HD-DVD is the exact same disc as Disc 2 of the French Studio Canal 2 Disc SE (it's not just the same master it's the actual same disc).

The same goes for the Aussie HD-DVD and many others. I thought you'd know this :).

The forthcoming Optimum BD is bound to be the same encode as the HD-DVD too. The spec. is the same and we know the new Rambo discs use the same encode used on the HD-DVD. If you're planning to stay format neutral you can probably pick up the T2 HD-DVD cheaply.

I kind of knew, but its so bloody confusing with so many version of T2 worldwide on HD DVD and Blu Ray.

Yet none have done the film bloody justice still :D

What's wrong with the German UE? Except for the price. Well I guess unless you want the TC instead.

Sure it only has one cut but I'd still say it does the film justice.

For one of the greatest films ever made, well it feels a little hollow all round.

The German one I guess is good, but that price does pain me and I know a Blu Ray will be along to blow that version away, a remastered version with better picture.

Of course but I never bother to look for stunt doubles, so never spot them.

The magic of Hollywood:

Stunt people in wide shots:

Actors in close-ups:

If you're gonna use stunt doubles, try to find some that look like the actors.
The kid's stunt double has curly hair, for fuck's sake.

Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

How can you not notice it when it's right in the middle of the frame?

I remember seeing that film for the first time at the theater.
"I wanna see the expression on Arnold's face in that shot.
Hey... hang on... THAT'S NOT AHNULD!!".

Same thing with Face Off during the boat fight.
I didn't know which stuntman was supposed to play Travolta and which one was playing Cage. All I saw was two stuntmen fighting on a boat.

That's why I (we?) love HK cinema.
Most of the actors do their own stunts (and stuntmen are smart enough to hide their ugly faces).
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Some People must watch films, with their eyes closed! if its directly in front of your eyes how on earth can you not see them.

T2 is pretty good in the stunt department for doubles, but some shots area little dodgy :)

Face Off is a joke from beginning to end becuase of them stunt doubles, takes you so far out of the film it decimates the story and action.

You don't have to look hard. A cursory glance tells you that you're watching doubles.

Other films with poor doubling include True Lies and Sudden Death.

Because I prefer to actually watch the movie ;), the fact it's in the centre of the frame isn't relevant. Besides often stunt doubles are on screen for seconds.

Obviously the majority of people don't spot them. I'm normal, you guys are freaks :D.

You said I didn't watch it at all, just because I didn't spot a stunt double when in reality millions of other people don't either.

Brad, you're talking nonsense. Give it up and just admit the stunt doubling is crap.
