He's got one piece of information wrong, because these discs indeed feature English subs. They are just not available from the menu.

That link says NO English Subs.

EDIT: Didn't see LD's post. So you have the disc? Are the English subs any good?

That links says no subs because there weren't supposed to be subs. See the date. The post was made before the dvd was released.

The german sites and reviews all say english subs.

I have the dvd on order now.

I don't have the disc, Mark, so I can't comment on the quality of the English subs. What I can conform however is that there are English subs.

Rambo: Part 5 - Eastern Condors :D

That cover art is awful.

Considering how rubbish they look, does it matter?

Surely Germans don't actually consider that a treat? Oh hidden credits.

Was it ever confirm if the HK Joy Sales SE and Korean Spectrum SE's have in-sync audio or are they out of sync like the Fox SE? Do they have subtitles or the Fox dubtitles too?

Thanks. I've wanted to see this for awhile but the HKL is heavily cut (to the point it bothers me) and looks awful next to the Fox DVD.

Liveshow Performance (13:12)

Is that the Miss Asia Pageant segement that everyone talks about?

That's a good extra.

Where's the most Anglo-friendly place to order from?

Heavily cut? One cut of Yuen Biao biting that head off that snake.

One of the greatest cover arts ever produced outside France. I paid 5€ extra just for that cover.

Don't know about friendly, but I placed my order at dtm. Nasty shipping, though, 8€ (but it's for 1-4 dvds). But can't help it, amazon doesn't stock this (probably some '18' bullshit again...)

What in particular ya cheeky git :(?
Surely Germans don't actually consider that a treat? Oh hidden credits.
Could have been legal reasons that made them not display neither subtitles or the credits on the artwork.
I've wanted to see this for awhile but the HKL is heavily cut (to the point it bothers me) and looks awful next to the Fox DVD.
Minus the Golden Harvest distribution logo, 22 odd seconds counts as heavily cut?
Yes, it it.
Surprised Fortune Star (?) put up the money to buy the show considering their initial reluctance with Joy Sales.
DTM is relieable.
They only have the LE in stock. The other two are 'available on order' I think.

Spannick confirmed to me that he helped a little and there's more DVDs coming from them some time later. The English dub is the old one, but uses 2 sentences from the new one (the latter is very temporarily sampled from the remix, but otherwise mono, quality and in-sync). Subs are most likely HKL's. The "German" Credits are actually the old English Ones with a German title card pasted over the original one.

You're not serious?

LD: Biao tears the Snake apart, doesn't bite it's head of. Still nasty though. If the HKL had better A/V I'd have put up with the cut.

Chen Lung: If the subs are HKL subs then they should be pretty good. The English dub was slightly cut compared to the Cantonese version that's probably why the new dub had to be inserted in places.

Brad: That pageant clip has long been sought after on DVD. You shouldn't slag off extras without knowing first what they are.

If you think asking what is special about an extra means the same as slagging it off you must really get offended easily :D . You also missed where I said it's cool. Brad 1 - Mark 0.

So no one bothered with the Spectrum or Joy Sales DVDs then? I'm surprised no one has given them a try.

If he was, I'd talk him otherwise...

Just kidding, I'll start trying to get him banned :D.

Sammo likes to insert animal cruelty wherever possible.

I know (HKL did a correction job I think and it seemed quite consistant) :). Tai Seng re-translated the subtitles, but I'm still worried incase NEW sourced whatever they could get their hands on - be it 'Fortune Starified' subtitles, or previous flubtitles. Because of that, I'm going to wait for confirmation of a few things. Both of us (I would think) have heard the dub from 'The Best Of Martial Arts' documentary, and what is Yuen Wah's voice like :P ?!

He means you dismissed it without even checking what it consisted of. So, in the voice of Des Lynam:

"Chen Lung = 1. Bradavon = Nil (twice)."

:D

I believe it's because:

Spectrum: The Fox DVD (I'm sure you're aware of it) with DTS option.
Joy Sales: No genuine mono, shitty subtitles and no original English dub (the latter not too important for some, agreed).

Was making a sarcastic statement, but he's done it a few times, pointlessly and needlessly.

It's a 13 minute featurette, they tend to usually be fluff pieces. Unless it's a commentary or a proper documentary I rarely bother anymore. Besides I did later ask about it. I ask half a point be reduced from the score against me :D

Thanks. So it's confirmed the Spectrum also has out of sync audio? What about the Joy Sales being in sync? Regardless if it's Fake Mono or 5.1 to choose from.

The fact it's not a genuine mono soundtrack doesn't bother me. I doubt I'd notice. Thanks.
