It was down, and now it says the domain has expired, I hope this invaluable resource comes back

I noticed that too - really sad if DVD Compare have gone I was only looking for them yesterday to check the details of House of Flying Daggers.

Not such a big loss to be honest, as they didn't have much info about the most important thing - the video quality.

Re: DVD Compare - No More?
True but they were useful for knowing whether a release was uncut or not, imo.

Re: DVD Compare - No More?
Absurd statement Xenon, there's more to DVD/BD than just the sodding A/V quality. DVDCompare's one of the best databases out there for details on film/extra details and whether the content is censored.
Saying that, I believe the domain name has expired and not yet been renewed. If the guy running it (Craig) ever did decide to pack it in then I think the site's hosted on The Digital Fix's server (Colin's server), so I'd imagine the site would still be archived and ready should anyone else want to step in. I think, don't take my word for it!

Re: DVD Compare - No More?
I agree with Shing, I found Rewind/DVD Compare very useful for finding out whether a DVD/BD is uncut or not.

There's a DVDCompare logo on DVD Beaver site now, suggesting it would be hosted by DVD Beaver from now on. I cannot get the database work, though.

I've been laughing at this comment on a Finnish site... this really describes us dvd collectors well. Rough translation:
(after news that DVD Compare will merge with DVD Beaver, yet no database to be found):
"I think the damn piece of crap merged with cyberspace. Fuck me. What are we gonna do now??"

Great to see it back. It is indeed invaluable. I didn't realise they had a Twitter page.
Totally missed the point of DVD Compare .Xenon wrote:Not such a big loss to be honest, as they didn't have much info about the most important thing - the video quality.
