Are you sure they didn't change the hard drives and it was two physical hard drives before? As it's not possible to display two disks as one C drive etc... They're two different physical drives.
Well, as far as I know it WAS 2 physical drives, which they somehow made into a 1 TB drive. I have no idea how they did it (or why), but there were 2 seperate 500GB HDD's in there.

Anyway, called the customer hotline a few times again this week. Followed their advice, and obviously didn't work (again)
So they'll be picking up the PC (again) this friday.

(!)

I also filed a complaint, and the guy on the phone took note and said the complaints-department (or whatever it's called) would get back to me, to see how we can resolve this. Not that I have high hopes.

Anyway: I received my Amazon.com order: 5 nice books, including a nice book by DC about creating digital art. Would be nice to have a proper PC to actually use Photoshop again(!)

Never heard of it, but you misquoted it, so now it looks like I said something stupid, which might confuse anyone else who knows I only post sensible stuff ;)

Fixed.

JBOD = "Just a Bunch Of Disks". It is used to span one large volume across multiple HDDs - kind of the complete opposite of partitioning HDDs.

Ah well...

My PC is still (again) in repairs. Also the customer-complaint people haven't been in contact with me...(!)

If this PC comes back broken again, you guys will see me on CNN.

What's the name of that Yusaku Matsuda flick, Hung!?

And Grim, tell us what you think about MadWorld. Seems like a very nice game to me, but I don't have a Wii so never bothered to pick it up for my girlfriend.

I will, Yi :) The graphics look like Sin City or something (stylised black and white) and the game sounds like Running Man :D

Resurrection of the Golden Wolf (Yomigaeru kinro). It's one of my favourite crime films from the 70's... a little bit something like an early version Miami Vice, or rather To Live and Die in LA as this is darker and less hip than Miami, just like LA. I'm exited to see this getting a BD release because it's an audio-visually mesmerizing film. Some caps from the old US dvd

Although there's a possibility it will look less colorful on BD. The dvd seems a bit inaccurate in terms of colors. But I love that look. You know, it's the same with some old school kung fu films. You've seen it from a faded, orage tinted VHS a hundred times, and when when the remastered dvd arrives, you notice the the ending fight against sunset isn't as colourful and visually surreal anymore. Plus you can see the cardboard sets and painted sky :D

But I do hope Resurrection will look great on BD.

I had a look at Snow White and it looks excellent on BD. I dont think the leap is as amazing as from VHS-DVD (and it is animation) but for a 70+ year old film it looks amazing. Even though my player is set to 16/9 full it still plays in 4/3 mode.

4/3 is the correct aspect-ratio for the movie, so it should. ;)

I haven't seen Snow White in many MANY years. Perhaps when I have kids some day, I'll be watching all those old cartoons again :)

Thanks Hung. The cover for the BluRay looks cool, so I thought it was a new movie :)

Sadly, I know very very little about japanese cinema, also because it's not very available, unless you're willing to pay alot.

hehe, that's a fun mistake to do considering these Matsuda BD's are 20th commemorative editions... Matsuda, who died at the age of 39, was, IMO, one of the coolest Japanese actors of all time. You've probably seen him in his last movie, Ridley Scott's Black Rain.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096933/

Toei is also remembering Matsuda with low priced editions of their old Matsuda releases.

Matsuda's son, Ryuhei Matsuda, has become a rather popular actor these days.
