-----
Rules:
DVD Mystère is very simple: Post a screenshot from a movie -> Guess themovie.
Posting:
1. The player who's won the previous round has to post a screenshot from a movie (no TV shows, no deleted scenes, no trailers, no posters, no production stills: it's gotta be an actual screenshot from an actual movie).
2. The country of origin has to change between each round.
3. Asian movies are preferred, but not mandatory.
-Well-known movies are preferred, but not mandatory.
4. When you post a screenshot, you must give a clue concerning the country of origin. Sometimes, however, giving this clue can make it too easy (in which case you can choose not to do it).
5. A minimum resolution of 640x360 is recommended.
-Avoid posting a screenshot that contains spoilers (key characters dying, etc...).
-Make sure the title of the movie is not contained in its filename or URL.
6. If the gamekeeper notices that the players can't find the movie, he should post a clue or a new screenshot (approx. 12h after posting the first shot).
Guessing:
- Only 3 guesses per player are allowed.
You'll get 3 points if you win with 1 guess.
You'll get 1 point if you win with 2 or 3 guesses.
- A player can guess again only after the current gamekeeper has replied.
- The winner becomes gamekeeper for the next round.
- In case 2 players win at the same time (same minute), they will each get one point.
- If a movie has several titles in english-speaking countries, any of those titles are accepted. However, the only valid AKAs are the ones that can be found on hkmdb.com , imdb.com and hkflix.com databases.
Obscure AKAs will not be regarded as valid.
The first player to reach 100 points wins.
-----
New rule : you can't win if you can't play.
If you win a round but are then unable to post a screencap, you are not allowed to score points during the next round.
Makes perfect sense: you should be gamekeeper, and the gamekeeper can't score points.
If you've got no screencap: you can play, you can win, but you can't score.

Statistics:
We've had 5 winners so far:

I wouldn't have known it if I hadn't seen it in a double feature with Death Proof
... okay, it wasn't a real double feature. I had free train tickets and went to Helsinki to see Death Proof last summer, and I had just enough time to fit Kiki in front of it (lately Finnish distributors have been releasing theatrically some films that we originally missed... old Wong Kar Wai and Miyazaki flicks...)
