Il Mare Hollywood remake - Oh Dear

Post by bradavon »

Not because they're remaking it per say but look at the leads:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0410297/

Keanu Reeves .... Alex Burnham
Sandra Bullock .... Kate Forster

The original is a great romance neither of these actors are good at romantic acting.

Both are decent in the roles they are good at. Sandra Bullock is very good in the romantic comedy looking like a goofball but out and out romance no way. She looks damn good for forty one though!

I can't see the title staying. I would say "at least it means a decent R1 DVD of the original" but where is the decent R1 "L' Appartement"?

They were kinda hot for each other in Speed?

Nah just kidding.

I've yet to watch this but AFAIK, no decent version exists. Might just give in and watch a dodgy version then...

The Korean SE is acceptable. The anamorphic picture isn't outstanding but not crap either IMO. The subs are pretty crappy but you soon get used to them.

It's the only anamorphic English subtitled DVD.

Believe me the films quality makes the DVD worth it by some way!

p.s - It should be available for under a tenner. CD WOW no longer sell it.
