The original is one of my favourites and this looks exactly the same TBH (but with excessive CGI, Minoroty Reports' hover cars, and watered down in a PG-13 sort of way)

Nice. Another movie I never need to see. Even got bored during the trailer. The action looks terrible, too.

Would have been interesting to Verhoeven's X rated cut of Total Recall, oh well

I quite liked The One actually But as Mark says, the trailer for TR looks pretty bad.luckystars wrote:Action is remeniscent of The One.
Now this is how a modern trailer (if Total Recall with Arnie were made today) - might look, this is quite neat

Well the original wasn't exactly perfect. Philip K Dick it was not.
I imagine this will be poor though, come on it's directed by Len Wiseman. I quite like the first Underworld but it's not exactly a classic in the action genre.

The One is dreadful. The action in Total Recall 2012 looks nothing like it .

Have to laugh at Brad's slating of Wiseman..he's made two decent Underworld films and a solid entry in the Die Hard franchise..but that leads Brad to assume this will be shit ..

Underworld was a pile of boring and unmemorable poo, while Die Hard 4 has the honor of being one of the worst movies I had the displeasure of seeing.

Re: Total Recall Remake
Underworld was OK, the sequel a bit less so, but I really enjoyed DH4.
Nothing will come close to the original DH so people should stop expecting it and enjoy the ride. Same goes for the upcoming DH5. I KNOW it won't be an all time great, but as long as it's fun and compliments the series I'm fine with it.
TR2012 may well be better than its trailer... but I don't hold out much hope.
The One I didn't care for at all, but then I'm not a fan of any of Jet's Hollywood movies.

utter tosh.If DH4 is one of the worst films ever made then you need to get out more.Xenon wrote:Underworld was a pile of boring and unmemorable poo, while Die Hard 4 has the honor of being one of the worst movies I had the displeasure of seeing.

Re: Total Recall Remake
Die Hard 4 wasn't entirely bad... just awfully forgettable and not really interesting in any way other than having Bruce in it. Clearly the worst in the series.
Underworld on the other hand... that one's total crap. I only finished the misery because the film was chosen by a girl (who blissfully fell asleep after the first 30 min and I had to suffer the rest  )

Re: Total Recall Remake
I looked at the back of new Total Recall BD and its still rated 18 but says "Contains 1 use of strong language and occasional gore" (!)
An 18 seems harsh in that case, I thought it had been reclassified 15.

It's been reclassified '15' for cinema release only.grim_tales wrote:I looked at the back of new Total Recall BD and its still rated 18 but says "Contains 1 use of strong language and occasional gore" (!)

And there's a lot more than one use of strong language.

I know, which is why I found the BBFC advice odd Maybe they got mixed up with the advice for the remake which is 12A?

Re: Total Recall Remake
Saw the trailer before Spiderman today and just thought "Pointless". It seems like a shot for shot rip off of the original, almost with almost the same dialogue, just the addition of hover cars and flashier effects. You see the bit where Doug talks to "himself", the reveal of the 3 breasted hooker (except its a 12A so you probably won't), the Cohagen character, the doctor who tries to persuade Doug its all a dream, and as if he actually says "If I'm not me, who the hell am I?" No delivers that line like Arnie. NO ONE.
