What was it called in the UK then? "Harold and Kumar get a bit peckish"?
"Getting the munchies" is getting hungry isnt it?
EDIT: Yes it was renamed for UK audiences. According to IMDB, in the US it was called "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle". It got called "Harold and Kumar Get The Munchies" over here (presumably because UK audiences wouldn't know what/where White Castle is).

there are two possiblities, which you believe depends on whether you are as cynical as I am
1) White Castle is a relatively well known place in the US but not here, hence the title meant something to the americans that would make them want to watch it unlike us...
2) They didn't dare use the phrase 'munchies' because the religeous right would be up in arms about the drugs theme. Admittedly they would be up in arms anyway, but without the provocative title it might not hit their radar so quickly. In the UK the drugs connetations in the title would most likely encourage the large student stoner population to go see the film
just guesses but still, thats my theory
